I left the pack as soon as I could. I didn't want to be there. I had so many questions swirling through my mind. Why did Alpha Clark suddenly ask me to be his Beta? I can't with the lack of trust and faith he has in me. Not mention the safety of the Keene family. I drove around instead of going to the office or even to check on the movements of the Keene family.
I found myself in front of the office anyway. I sat in my truck with my head on the steering wheel. Contemplating giving everything up and walking away.
