Flora Gets Her wings

249 Words
It was a bright and sunny morning with lots of glittering fairy dust in the air. Flora lay sleeping peacefully in her pretty pink bed as the rays from the rising sun crept in through the windows. Flora blinked rapidly as she awoke to the new day, stretching her arms above her. As Flora went to put her arms back to her side, she felt something unusual on her back. The day had finally come! Flora had grown her fairy wings! Flora quickly leaped out of bed, jumping up and down. “Mum! Dad! Wake up! Wake up! Come on! Mum! My wings, my wings - they’re here!”, she yelled as she ran out of her bedroom and jumped right into her parents’ bed. “Your wings? Oh, Flora, sweetie, I’m so happy for you! You’re a big fairy now!”, Flora’s mum said gleefully as she smiled at her, “I can’t wait to teach you how to use them. Oooh! We can fly together over the trees! Maybe we’ll fly over to surprise Nana! What do you think, Flora?” “I’d love that, Mum”, Flora giggled from beneath giant bear hug her father was giving her as he congratulated her. “Looks like you’ve got a busy day ahead of you now, Flora!”, Dad said. “I can’t wait! Let’s get started! I’m going to get dressed now!” Flora exclaimed as she ran off back to her bedroom.
