It was past 9.30, late night when Hash returned home after visiting her mother and father. Se Hun dropped her at the apartment with a heart warming smile. In her room, she was finally able to properly examine her shopping items, she carefully laid her items. When it comes to shopping, Hash was THE master, shopping was one of her weaknesses, shopping was the only therapy that could turn her sad gloomy day into a bright sunny one and Se Hun knew about it and hence today's outing.
Smiling absent mildly, Hash tried a new dress and inspected it from the mirror, she turned this way and that way, finally finding satisfaction she made a grab for another dress only to stop when she caught sight of the box lying on the bed. And her face fell, she took it slowly and opened it, a Trisot men's watch sat in the cradle. She bought it for Lu Han because she felt bad at the way she behaved with him today morning. She bought it so that she could apologize for her mistake.
Hash silently dropped on the bed, and traced the fine rim of the watch as a tear tickled down her cheek,"I want to make this marriage work," she thought,"I am fed up of this pretense."
She silently cried, Hash knew that there was absolutely nothing that she had not done to keep this marriage, she knew that she didn't love Lu Han but she knew that she cared for him. Hot thick tears rolled down her cheeks soaking her dress, she was helpless and hurt because she knew that Lu Han does not care for her.
"Hash," Jenny called from the door.
Hash quickly wiped her tears and looked at Jenny who had a tray with her supper, "I am not hungry Jenny, besides Lu Han has not come home yet."
Jenny walked into the room and laid the tray on her table, "Mr. Hun practically threatened me that if you didn't have at least a morsel, he'll make sure to kick me out. So please eat something," Jenny begged.
Hash shook her head,"I don't feel like having anything Jenny, besides I don't even know if Lu Han had dinner or not."
Jenny silently cursed the day Lu Han was born, trying very much not shake her hard so that she could knock some sense into her, "I don't care whether sir had his dinner or not, but I do care about you, so please, eat something."
Hash opened her mouth to reply when the door bell rang. She quickly got up, wiped her eyes and ran to the front door and flung it open. What she saw made her heart freeze, "Su Ho?'
Su Ho grinned at her, "hi there, well I am really sorry to say, but this fella over here is quiet heavy," he pointed at Lu Han who was heavily drunk and leaning on to Su Ho.
Hash made way for Su Ho to take Lu Han inside, "where do you want me to put him?" he asked over his shoulder.
"Lets take him to his room, I mean our room," she said blushing and rushing in front of them towards Lu Han's room.
Su Ho chuckled behind her back and grunting he carried Lu Han to his room.
After laying him on his bed, Su Ho and Hash walked into the sitting room.
"I'll get something for you," Hash said turning to leave to the kitchen.
"No," Su Ho said stopping her, "it's already too late besides I have to go home as well."
Hash didn't know what else to say, it was the first time that she met Su Ho alone and she suddenly felt awkward and lost for words.
Su Ho looked at Hash and felt sorry for the poor girl's unlucky fate, not wanting to make it more award, "I better get going." When he reached the door he turned, "Hash, I really hope that you would hold on," saying that he walked out of the door.
Hash stood rooted on the spot for a moment trying to understand what in the world he meant by that. She blinked for a couple of times and slowly turned to walk back into the house. She was still wondering what he meant when she bumped into Jenny.
"I kept some lime juice for sir on his table," she said.
"Thank you, I'll go check on him."
She went up to his room and slowly opened the door afraid that a single movement of hers would wake him up. She slowly tiptoed to the side of the bed and stood still. She stared hard and long at his flawless face, for a moment she felt that she was the luckiest girl in the world to have such a handsome husband.
She slowly bent down to take a proper look at his face, and realized that it was the first time that she saw him sleeping, "he frowns even in his sleep," a small smile played upon her lips at that thought.
Reluctantly she lifted her hand and slowly brought it to his face. She lightly traced his face with her fingertips from the forehead to his sharp jaw marveling at the perfect sculpture. She lightly traced his pouted pink lips that felt like satin, hesitantly she brought her lips closer to his. She was on the verge of touching his lips when he jerked, Hash panicking, quickly duck down. When there was no more movement she peeped up and saw that Lu Han was facing the other side. Heaving a sigh of relief she quickly walked out of the room with her heart in her throat. It was not until she closed the door behind her did she relax, leaning on the door she breathed heavily. She could almost feel her heart rate rising to the point of nowhere. Not wanting to get caught by any of the servants she quickly walked into her room and shut the door.
Early next Saturday morning Lu Han woke up to a splitting headache, he pinched his eyes shut and opened them again to take a clear view of the surrounding. He tried to remember how he ended up in his room and then slowly all the events of yesterday came flowing into his head from the moment he arrived at the bar, but his last memory was him blabbering away to Su Ho. He tried to remember what he said to him but his mind was blank,"yet another incident for Su Ho to make fun of," he grimaced at the thought. Throwing his bed spread aside he stood up and he had to hold on to the bed post when a wave of nauseous hit him. He groaned and looked at the clock on the night stand and that's when he saw the lime juice with some tablets. His ego was too important to him than his hungover therefore he ignored it and walked zig zag into the washroom.
Hash was already having her braekfast by the time Lu Han came down after a shower, without a word he sat at the head of the table and started to read the paper while the maid served him breakfast.
Hash barely lifting her head from the plate looked at him, then deciding to take the first step,"why did you get drunk yesterday?" she asked without any hesitation.
Lu Han who was busy reading the newspaper pretended as if he didn't hear her by turning a page.
Hash took a deep breathe, by now she was used to this type of response, but what happened yesterday demanded some explanation. It was the first time he came home fully drunk,"Lu Han," she called,"I am asking you what happened yesterday?"
Lu Han, who could no longer ignore her irritating question peeped from the side of the paper, raising an eyebrow,"none of your business," he simply said and returned to the paper.
Hash could feel her cheeks burning in humiliation,"I deserve an answer Mr. Han," she said through her gritted teeth, "you were fully drunk yesterday and Su Ho had to bring you home. I cannot tolerate it if you come home drunk like this.'
Quiet irritated by her nagging, Lu Han slammed the paper on the dinning table startling Hash, "just relax woman!" he said. "It's none of your concerns whether I come home drunk or not, what do you care? Can't you just leave me alone? First it was babies now about my alcoholic tolerance. What's wrong with you?" he shouted.
Hash who silently tried to be patient stood up abruptly,"It is my business as well!' she pointed out. "You are my husband whether you like it or not and I have the right to know what you do and the reasons for your acts."
"Well, I too have the right to know about your business as well then, though I have never ever questioned you about your where abouts.'
"I don't come home drunk like you," Hash pointed out, her cheeks flaming red.
Lu Han glared at her,"yesterday you were out shopping with Se Hun, yet I never questioned you about it."
Hash suddenly stopped midway and wondered what he meant, "what the hell has that got to do with you getting drunk? Do you expect me to sit at home the entire day and count chickens?"
Pushing the chair aside, Lu Han stood up, he was clearly on the point of exploding,"I don't freaking care if you sit at home counting chickens or eggs neither do I care if you go shopping but, hell woman, try to remember at least for once that you are married and that going out with some other man would raise eyebrows and ruin my reputation!"
Hash, who clearly had no idea of backing down,"I don't give a damn about what other people think, and why are you making this about me? You were the one who came home drunk last night."
Lu Han who was by now right in front of Hash, took her by the shoulder and shook her,"I told you earlier as well, don't you dare try to poke your nose into my business. I know that we are legally bound but that doesn't mean that I should let you know everything that happens with me," he leaned closer, "you know right, that I don't give a s**t about this marriage?" he asked with rueful smirk. Saying so he released her and walked to his room pushing her aside.
Hash who couldn't take it anymore sunk to the ground with tears streaming down her cheeks.
