19 The next couple of days, I kept as close to the Phoenix House in case there was another fiery event but it looked like things had settled down after the combustion. With the fire hazard negated for the moment, the bigger problem was Erinna and Apollo’s relationship. The enclosure had ample space if they just left each other alone but it didn’t seem like that was on the cards. Every morning, Lander or Peter reported new rows and injuries. I was on my way for the morning check-up, enjoying the chill in the air. It wasn’t snowing today but it was a wonderfully crisp day. With every breath, a white cloud escaped my lips and I enjoyed pretending to be a glacier dragon. My game didn’t last long. I’d barely gotten past the Antler Forest when I heard the distressed screams of the phoenixes.
