8 Between the phoenixes, making new friends, and my duties as an apprentice, time flew by. Before I knew it, it was time to meet Tina. When I agreed to see her, it had felt like a bad idea. Standing in front of the pub, it felt like an even worse idea. Why did I suggest going for food again when meeting my ex? I should’ve gone for drinks. Or better, just a quick meeting at the train station. Luckily, Lions & Lemons was a casual place that served all kinds of things and within my price range. As an apprentice, I got paid a wage but I wasn’t exactly flush with cash. Although it had to be said, I was lucky to even get paid on top of bed and board.
