Chapter 6: The Alpha

1679 Words
BOOM! We were too late. A pack entered their way into the mansion. We were easily outnumbered and surrounded by damned werewolves. I wouldn’t have thought much about it before except now my mate is in fact a werewolf, so that changes things up a bit. Our elite team was surprisingly also in the mansion. Zach and I looked at them with hardened eyes. It was clear they were rats and we had been sold out. We stood there calm, pissed, and ready to kill and ready to move. The Alpha glided past his men like he was a regal being. His eyes glittered and his fangs dripped with disdain. He was a handsome wolf though. I’ll give him that. He was the tall, dark and handsome kind with piercing ice-blue eyes. He was adorned with tattoos from his kills one could only assume. He was also sporting a five o’clock shadow. “I want to know why you have been snooping around the Wolf King and family.” He asked menacingly. “What could a couple of ancient artifacts want with wolves and think they are even worthy of the Royals?” He was pacing back and forth in front of us holding a silver knife dripping with what was probably some Holy Water. I looked at the Alpha dumbfounded, but then it clicked. My muse was claimed to have died suddenly and I’m probably guessing this wolf thinks I or We had something to do with it. “I heard about the information buzzing around the supernatural world and got curious. Royal sudden deaths in someone so young usually lead to murder. I am assuming that is why you and your posse are here? You think that us snooping and our traitor elite team had something to do with her sudden death?” My question that included our backstabbing team made the Alpha swivel in their direction. I smirked in their direction as they went wide-eyed trying to convince the werewolf otherwise. At the flick of his hand he had them killed, but not before they saw my smirk. Karma’s a b***h and she never disappoints. “Now that that loose end of ours has been tied up I would like the truth as to why you were digging into my late fiance’s death? What purpose and don’t feed me lies with scandals and all of that bullshit. Humans are more inept for that. Not to say that werewolves and other supernatural beings don’t have their fair share, but not with the princess. She….she was perfect and with her untimely death the opportunity of me being the next King of the Wolves has died with her.” He looked up at my ceiling as if he was praying to his Goddess for the inconvenience of death of the princess who he apparently was promised to. I kept my face unreadable even though I was seething. There was no way she was going to marry this prick. Oh, how I wanted to tear out his vocal cords for voicing her as a ‘missed opportunity'. I’d give him the truth, but before I did I glanced back to Zach who nodded for me to do what I needed to do. “WELL! I don’t have all f*****g day you stupid vamps!” The Alpha’s eyes were glowing with impatience. “The truth is the princess was my destined Queen. My mate. My life.” I said coolly and watched the Alpha for a reaction. 5...4...3...2...1... He sneered and spit as he spoke. “Your Queen?! She could never be mated to a piece of s**t vampire! Your life?!” He threw his head back and laughed. I could’ve taken the ‘opportunity’ to kill him right then, but he hadn’t actually threatened us yet and I didn’t see the need for further messiness in my mansion. This damn pack had already cost me enough in damage repairs and clean-up. “Yes. My Blood Queen. You see, she was someone very precious to me. It was love at first sight. I had waited a millennium to finally meet my destined mate. I made love to her and f****d her until she couldn’t walk. She loved every moment of it. She loved the way I brought her to climax. I loooved hearing her scream my name in pleasure. Her very essence courses through my veins. Until. Until news reached me that she had died. I’ve been on the hunt since then trying to find out if she ‘suddenly’ died or if it was murder because if it was murder then whoever it, he or they are will be seeing me very soon. So, if you’ll excuse me we must be on our way. It smells like murder, unless ….. I should be killing you for murdering her.” I calmly explained as I turned my eyes red and smiled wickedly at him. “If it was love at first sight and she was your mate then why are there no markings on her or you? Huh? Not to mention there is absolutely no way you touched her since she was under lock and key at the castle. You are a lying sack of s**t. You are also not the Vampire King. That is laughable at best!” He shook his head at me. I quirked up an eyebrow in his declaration. He was stupid and arrogant as well. Hmmm…. Maybe I should kill him. “You never indicated that you didn’t kill her.” I tilted my head at him with the same menacing look. “Yea, so what if I did? I’m not afraid of you. If I can’t have her … then no one can.” He said the last part in a guttural growl. If I hadn’t found my mate I would’ve been attracted to his masculinity and bent him over right then and there, but no. I knew he was full of s**t. He was pathetic and not worthy of being a king of anything other than his own thrown. “Say when.” “Clouse, since you are going to kill these wolves, do you need my help or should I just be calling the cleaners to make their way over here along with our carpenters to fix the broken windows,” Zach asked me nonchalantly. He sounded bored. “Are you bored and not wanting to get in the action, my friend? I thought you needed to feed. I know I do.” I said playfully as my claws extended and my fangs descended. “Yes, you’re right. I am pretty parched. I guess I’ll play too.” Zach switched up to vampire mode and within milliseconds we were all in chaos. The lower-ranking wolves attacked first to allow their Alpha time to see exactly what we were capable of. Zach and I moved faster than they had anticipated. Some never even saw us coming. Blood sprayed everywhere. Entrails were everywhere. It started to smell like a wet dog instead of blood. Zach took on the Gamma and Beta. It was comical. The Gamma thought he had the upper hand on Zach, but within a blink of an eye, Zach had literally blinded the wolf. He was playing with him. The Gamma wasn’t able to fight any longer now that he was permanently disabled. Zach then beelined to the Beta, but the Beta was a coward of sorts but at the same time a good wolf. He managed to dodge Zach, pick up the Gamma, and run away. Zach didn’t bother wasting his time chasing him. Instead, he pulled out his phone to call the cleaners to come to the mansion. Afterward, he stood at ease and watched on as it was my turn with the Alpha. The wolves did put up a good fight, but even the Alpha was no match for me. He charged at me baring his fangs and snapping at me. He made the mistake of going for my throat first. I dodged him and immediately had him in a rear-naked choke. He made it too easy. I whispered in his ear, “I am the Blood King. Persephone IS my mate. I don’t believe her to be dead. In fact, I am searching for her. She is my mate. I did mate her, love her and f**k her brains out and if I’m lucky she is with child. I just wanted you to know that my associate and I knew you were bluffing nor were you ever fit to hold any royalty title other than the shitter you pop a squat on. Now you are going to die.” The Alpha tried to splutter something, but I didn’t care. His words were garbage and irrelevant. Once he was passed out I looked up at Zack then back at the unconscious Alpha and immediately fed on him. His life energy was a nice energy boost. We had fed in a bloodthirsty haze. I was sated. Zach was now cleaning himself up. His phone chirped and it was the cleaners. They were here to clean up this ridiculous mess made by the wolf pack that dared to confront me and enter my lair. At least the Gamma and the Beta would have a good story to spin. In moments we were changed and left for California. Once we were there we’d request a formal meeting with the King and Queen in Hawaii. If they refused then we’d go there anyway. I needed to speak with them, understand them and convince them to grant me permission to their daughter’s hand.
