Orion's POV
There was a mix of concern and worry on my face as I carried Vivian back into our room before cautiously laying her down on the bed.
I got a notification on my phone and upon checking it, It was from an anonymous number and It was a video.
Wondering at who would send me a video on the middle of the night, I kept the phone aside and tended to my mate.
“You'll heal anytime soon. The doctors already have it bandaged and it won't hurt anymore, okay?”
“Okay… “ she suddenly winced again. “My right leg hurts bad though.”
I frowned a bit. “I thought you said It was your left leg earlier.”
There was a strange glint in her eyes as she averted her gaze from mine. “I was in so much pain earlier. I could have mixed it up, but I'll be fine. Don't worry.” She gave me a peck on the lips and slept in my embrace.
Strangely enough, I couldn't shake off the feeling she was lying, but then again, I would never pick Aaliyah’s words over hers.
I suddenly remembered the video and upon ensuring Vivian was asleep, I stepped out of the room to check the video so as not to wake her. I was curious because the person was anonymous and It was in the middle of the night. I suspected It might have something to do with Aaliyah but I knew I never got her a phone.
As I passed by the window to my study, I spotted Aaliyah's things still outside under the rain but she was no where in sight. A strange twinge of unease washed over me. I couldn't fathom why I felt this way, after all, I had thrown her out without a second thought. But deep down, a part of me questioned if I had made the right choice.
No matter what, I still could never forget the face that she was a huge part of my recovery. Even the doctors had given up on me at one point and most of the Omegas were scared to attend to me because of my grumpy attitude but she still stayed. She stayed by my side the entire time and even when she had the chance to poison me for all I've done to her, she never did.
Upon realizing my thoughts, I pushed them aside and told myself that she had to understand that I still didn't see her the way she wanted me to and It didn't give her the rights to try and hurt my mate.
I sat down in my study and causally opened the video and what I saw next had my heart in a tight grip.
‘A recovery gift Alpha. Glad to see you're doing well. But you might want to see this.’ The message above the video read. I clicked on it.
In the video was a man and woman naked, kissing and cuddling like romantic couples. The blonde hair looked alot familiar but I didn't expect the blonde woman to actually be Vivian.
And she was in bed with someone who I never dreamed she'd be with. Adam. My half brother. They looked like they had just made love and yet it looked like they couldn't get their hands off each other.
There was an indescribable pang of pain in my heart as I was at the verge of tossing the phone away when suddenly, Adam said,
“The doctors have already given up on him at this point. It's only a matter of time before he dies.”
Vivian giggled, her head on his chest as she played with it. “I can't believe the accident was ochestrated so perfectly. No one, not even his pathetic hag of a mother would have a clue of who was responsible.”
My heart sank. This had to be a joke. This couldn't be real.
“After he dies and I take over… “
“And you make me your Luna.” She cut in and they smiled in union before he continued.
“I will ensure I kill her. She would regret ever throwing me out of my own father's back.”
I couldn't watch the video as I angrily threw the phone to the wall, watching in rage as the device smashed into pieces before scattering on the floor.
My breath turned unsteady, and my fingers were shaky as I grabbed a fistful of hair, tugging on it, trying to calm myself down.
No. It can't be. Vivian couldn't have. They planned this? They were responsible for my almost near death experience. Was that why she was back? To finish the job?
This was a betrayal of the highest order, and I was left reeling, unsure of what to do next.
I walked out of the study, fistful in rage, not knowing what to even do. Suddenly my eyes came up on a stray bag, and they softened upon realizing it was Aliyah's. It had probably fallen out of her other luggage when she was kicked out.
She was framed. It was increasingly clear that Vivian had framed Aaliyah, and my heart twisted with regret and anger. Without a doubt she was and I didn't believe her. I didn't believe her because I was too In love and blinded by the thought of being with Vivian that I didn't listen to a word she said. And now, she was out there under the rain probably under the mercy of the rogues and the cold drenching weather.
I picked up the bag and some documents fell down. Curious as to what they were, I picked them up as well, and upon reading the contents, My breath caught in my throat as the gravity of the situation hit me.
Aaliyah was two months pregnant.
For me.
Few minutes later As my men and I ventured into the night, I couldn't help but replay the moments when she had cared for me, when she had shown me kindness and compassion. She had only wanted me to reciprocate the love. She wanted nothing else. Not my money, nothing. She just wanted me to love her but I had been too blinded my hate and the love I had for Vivian. But now, with the truth laid bare, I was determined to make amends.
