Thoughtfully, Katkin asked her, “Are you happy, Willow? I mean, since we lost the land and all?” Her sister paused before answering, looking slowly around her little one-roomed cottage, and at Roseberry lying quietly in her basket on the table. Willow kept the cottage spotlessly clean, and a pretty quilt she had made herself covered the double bed in the corner. Finally, she said, “Yes, I am, Kat. Yannick is so kind and he loves me very much. And I love him and we both adore Roseberry. We don’t have very much, it is true, yet I wouldn’t trade this house for a mansion somewhere else without Yannick.
