Waking up outside in the chill of the third morning let Ben know, without any doubt, that he really was traveling again. So soon after the last journey! Reluctantly, slowly, he crawled out of his bedroll, wincing at the chill. Everything was wet with dew, and Ben dried his mat with his shirt before rolling it and attaching it to his travel pack. Then he went to Ibba, who was still sleeping, curled up like a bug. "Little sister," he said, stooping down, "it"s time to wake up." She grunted and squeezed her eyes shut tighter. Ben had to try a few more times before her eyes popped open. He had worried that she wouldn"t want to climb out into the cold morning, but as soon as she was actually awake, she leapt straight out of her bedroll.
