When the men came for Teru, they came in a rush, storming into the house, all in black with hard boots that slapped the ground and tread on Miko"s nice things. They ground dirt into carpets and knocked over vases. If Teru had her voice, she would have given these men the talking to of their lives. Instead, she stood and watched them come, calm but angry, daring them to treat her the same way. They came straight for her, though Miko was there as well, and Miko"s friends, too. They knew exactly which one Teru was, they knew exactly who they were looking for.
