High up in one of the four towers supporting the Tyne Bridge, Peter Noble, the young man whose job it was to do periodical inspections of the massive supports, was carrying out his duties. But today was different. Today he wasn"t alone; he was accompanied by two men. One was a journalist from a local newspaper, while the other was the manager of a large restaurant close by.
The council had welcomed the local newspaper being involved in anything to do with the Tyne Bridge. It was the pride of Tyneside and any article about the bridge was welcome. However, they had voiced their surprise that a restaurant manager should be quite so interested in gaining an insight in the towers.
