Teresa's POV. The next day, I woke up to someone kicking my stomach, I opened my eyes as I saw kingdom looking at me with disinterest. “If you plan on not going to work today, suit yourself," he said as he walked out of the house. I laid on the cold floor and I couldn't believe I had slept here. I wanted to cry but my eyes were tired. I felt my heart aching but I didn't want to cry. I stood up from the floor as I stretched my stiff bones. I looked at the file on the tea table, I rushed to it as I saw the words ‘Divorce papers’ on them. Has the kingdom seen it? I couldn't help but wonder but it was too hard to miss, as I opened the file, my heart dropped to my stomach as I noticed my signature there. “i signed it” I whispered to no one as I smiled sadly, well my time here is up. I had signed my own part of it. I dropped it on the table. Heading to my room I decided to pack all my things, I packed every single thing of my belongings, then I stared at the frame of me and kingdom from our wedding day. I had a very pretty smile on my face but kingdom had a frown. I threw it in the dustbin as I zipped up my bag, and I dropped my resignation letter. After showering and wearing a dress, I dragged my bag with me to the car, tossing it in the back seat. I entered the driver's seat as I started the car. Driving out of our compound, I didn't look back as I headed to my office, on my way to the airport I'd call my elder brother to come pick me up. As I walked into my boss’s office, I could hear kissing sounds and I knew she might be with a man but this was important. “kingdom!” I shrieked as I saw kingdom kissing my boss, he only gave me a f**k you finger in response to me calling his name. My boss broke the kiss as she looked at me confused. “You know him? And weren't you thinking how to knock?” She asked as I scoffed at her, I was resigning so I didn't need to watch my words against her. “He was my husband, we divorced today and I can see who the rebound is. Well, I quit” I said as I slammed my resignation letter on her desk. I held eye contact with the king for a few seconds before I walked out of her office. I wasn't going to regret this divorce and I was sure of it. Landing in Germany was the greatest miracle that God had done for me, I was finally out of that loveless marriage and no one would ever treat me like trash. As I rolled my luggage out of the plane, I saw my elder brother Bradford already waiting for me. I ran into his arms as we hugged. I really missed my country but I was somewhat ashamed. My uncle had warned me not to relocate to Paris with kingdom but I didn't listen and now I'm back to the one place I came from. “How's kingdom?” Bradford asked as he drove to the family house that was located at the suburbs of the city. How do I even explain it to my family? “I-we divorce Brad, he treated me like s**t and I'm tired of that. Michelneth helped with the procedures so here I am” I said awkwardly as Bradford hummed in response to it, he didn't seem happy and I knew it, I had also said hurtful words to him when he begged me not to leave. “grandmother and uncle would be happy to hear that” he said with a forced smile. “I'm sorry Brad, I shouldn't have called you a pushover, you were trying to warn me about kingdom but I was blinded by infatuation and obsession that I couldn't comprehend those for me and those against me.” I said as I played with my fingers, I heard a sigh as he stopped the car by the roadside. “You know I love you Teresa. I'd do anything to make you see that no man on earth can ever truly make you happy but family and yourself” Bradford said as he pulled me into his arms, I didn't cry as I was supposed to but the load on my heart reduced a bit. “Come on, let's go home. grandmother and uncle would be excited to see you” Bradford said as he started the car heading back on track as we headed home. I just looked at the familiar place I once lived in, the place where I met kingdom and this is the place where all my problems started but I didn't care. I was here to help myself and not think about what had happened before I got here. As we arrived at my family's house, Bradford helped me with my bags as we walked in. The maids and guards seemed shocked to see me as they all bowed and said soft grandmotherbles of greetings. “It's good to be back” I whispered to Bradford as we got to the main entrance leading to the living room. “You ready?” Bradford asked his hands placed on the door knob, I took a deep breath as I nodded. I took a deep breath as I nodded. “Let's do this” As he pushed the door open, the once living room that was booming with laughter and joy turned quiet as they stared at me with wide eyes. I knew this would happen. “Teresa is back guys” Bradford said as he nudged me forward. He went to sit beside grandmother who stared at me, her eyes got watery as she stood up walking to me, she pulled me into her arms as I bursted into tears, I missed this and I missed her. “Are you really back for good?"
