Everyone else in the room was in shock. "You want us to teach her everything in only a month?!" Lowell growled. "Yes, it should be quite simple." Darren answered cooly. Scarlet gulped, "I don't even know how to shift Darren? How do you expect me to learn everything if I am not even able to do that?" Lowell looks to Scarlet, "You haven't shifted before? Are you even in touch with your inner wolf?" Scarlet started to blush and glance down.
"As I said...before yesterday I was clueless to this whole...world that you are so accustomed to...might as well treat me like a pup?" Scarlet questioned. Lowell started to chuckle, "Pup is a bit too young, but I will do my best for you, Scarlet." He grinned and gave her a small wink. Darren stands up and offers his hand to Lowell, "Then we have a deal." Lowell stood up as well and shook Darren's hand. "Where will we be staying?" Darren asked. Lowell looked puzzled for a moment. "We?"
"Yes, we, even though you and Scarlet are mates, until she is trained and understands how to control her new abilities we are unlocking, she is safest with me, for now. WE don't want anything to happen accidentally." Darren smiled warmly. Lowell pouted slightly and nodded, "You are not wrong Darren. Go and make yourselves comfortable for your month long stay, and then we can reconvene for lunch."
He moved over to Scarlet and helped her up, asking Drake, "Please show us to our room?" Drake nodded, "Follow me, it's going to be on the top floor down from the Alpha's room." They climbed up the three more flights of stairs, at the top of the landing there is a short hallway with five doors along it. They went to the second door on the left and Drake opened it, revealing two queen beds, and an en suite bathroom with a double sink inside. Scarlet notices her bags are already in the room along with Darrens', guess they must have told them already what the plan was using that pack telepathy or something. Scarlet could only guess.
"Thank you Drake, we will be down in a moment, I have somethings to talk to Scarlet about, please let the Alpha know." Drake nodded and closed the door behind him. Darren turned to Scarlet, "I'm sorry to have thrown you into all of that downstairs, when I realized you were his mate, it would have made it more compelling for him to actually help you and teach you to be a great wolf." He gave her a hug. "Darren, this is all so much so fast, do you think I could really figure it out?" Darren let go, "Of course, otherwise I wouldn't have said what I did." He grinned.
Scarlet tried to smile as she moved to place her suitcase on the Queen bed next to the bathroom, she opened and started to sort her clothes into the adjacent closet at the foot of the bed. Darren started to sort his own items from his bags, bringing out lots of electronic equipment and spreading it out on the desk in the corner. Scarlet asked, "Darren, exactly how old are you?" He paused for a moment and looked over to Scarlet. "Technically I'm 42, but I'm about five hundred and three. So I've been a vampire for four hundred and sixty-one years." Scarlet's jaw drops, "Woah, seriously? How did you manage that? I mean...not get found out?" Darren chuckles, "It's easy, you move around about every two to three decades, making sure to stay over fifty miles away minimum."
Scarlet nods and continues to finish unpacking, "That is sound logic, but doesn't it get annoying? All the moving and needing to re-establish yourself?" Darren shrugged, "Well being a lawyer helps, just had to change the year I graduated, then would go back to school and just gain new knowledge as well. No one seems to notice, since I keep a young look as well as night school was a god send." He laughed. Scarlet asked, "But wasn't it a lonely life? Never found someone to stay with you?" Darren looked down, "I did, for a long time...but he...was murdered by some vampire hunters during the salem witch trials in America..." a soft sniffle escaped his lips.
