36 The Good News Continues “Vamonos!” Someone yelled as three men rushed through the barn, past the animals to the dairy cow stalls, where the six immigrant workers were about to hook up the milking machines to the twelve dairy cows for the morning’s milking. “All done. Let’s go, vamonos.” They stopped. “Alt! Stop, let’s go. Get out of here. Scram, damn it.” The three men ordered the laborers out of the barn through the back door as if prodding a herd of cattle through a shoot and out a ramp.
