Ethan was alone in the house. The conversation with his grandmother still lingered in his mind. She had been quiet ever since he mentioned Victor’s release from prison, and after a long pause, she simply turned off the television and said she needed some fresh air.
“I’m feeling bored in this house,” she’d told him. That was her way of saying she was upset. Ethan didn’t need to be told twice; he knew it was because of what he’d said about Victor's release.
He glanced at the clock. The day was still young. He’d use the opportunity to pay Helen a surprise visit. He smiled to himself as he thought of her. She was always full of energy, a breath of fresh air in his life.
Without wasting any more time, Ethan dashed upstairs to refresh himself. He took a quick shower, changed in
