THE HOTEL
Victor sat quietly in the car, his eyes staring out of the window as the city whizzed past him in a blur of colors and lights. The hum of the engine was the only sound breaking the silence, but his mind was far away from the present. He hadn’t been free in a long time, but now—finally—he was.
Ava sat beside him with a wide grin plastered on her face. She couldn’t believe it; after all this time her dad was finally out.
“We’re almost there,” Ava said, breaking the silence. Her voice was light, almost as if she were still in disbelief.
“Now that he is out, everything will go just fine,” Ava thought to herself.
Victor turned his head towards her, nodding his head.
Ava smiled, her eyes sparkling. “It’s real, Dad. You’re out, and now we can finally be a family,” she muttered
