WAYNE MANSION
Ethan walked into his house and headed straight to his room, tossing his keys on the dresser before stripping off his jacket. He murmured to himself, “Helen will be here soon. I need to be ready.”
He turned on the shower, letting the hot water stream down his tense muscles, still wound from his long day.
Minutes later, Ethan stepped out of the shower, a towel wrapped around his waist. As he reached for his phone on the nightstand, he saw a notification he hadn't noticed earlier. "Oh! Helen sent me a text?" He said to himself.
Helen:
"I just ordered a cab, I'm on my way."
He smiled, but there was an unspoken anxiety there as he thought Helen should have arrived by now. Maybe he was overthinking.
Ever since Helen’s k********g by Dave, his sense of ease had vanished.
