Daniel sat in his office, his gaze fixed on the thick report the private investigator had just handed him. His fingers traced the edges of the file as if trying to absorb its contents through touch.
The weight of the revelation inside was suffocating, and his mind struggled to make sense of it.
“Are you sure about this?” Daniel finally asked, his voice low and strained.
“Yes, sir,” the investigator replied, his tone calm but firm. “This is my job. Everything in that report is accurate. I triple-checked every detail before bringing it to you.”
Daniel shook his head, his grip tightening on the document. “Something doesn’t feel right. What the hell is this?”
