31 Alec What happens next is a blur. I recall more impressions than anything else. There’s a darkened alley. A well-lit sidewalk. Some older gent who jumps out of my way. All the while, Elle stays at my side. No matter what, both Elle and I stay focused on the striped tail of the Cheshire cat.
