"Get me the hospital manager now!" I barked at my assistant, Lana, holding my head which throbbed as though it would fall out if I tilted to the side.
Lana jumped, startled at my tone, but almost immediately regained her composure and dropped the bottle of water she was holding and pulled out a tablet, getting to work instantly.
I softened, barely, casting her a single glance. She didn't deserve to be yelled at, but I couldn't help it. I was beyond enraged, my blood was pounding in my ears as tension sizzled in my chest.
