To my horror I saw the guys unpacking only a couple meters away from my friends. My plan to take a swim and get back to my towel when they had passed had failed. To make things worse, I saw Mr. tall, dark and handsome take of his shoes and motion his hands towards the sea as he was speaking with one of the other guys. He actually was quite handsome too and looked much like Mr. TDH, perhaps they were brothers. The crazy thing was, I felt absolutely nothing towards him. It was Mr. TDH that had something that pulled me towards him, it was an undescribable feeling that had gave me butterflies in my stomach and got me slightly aroused as well, I mean, those abs! I was really caught off guard when I had felt the jealousy when Sara told me they matched him with Cathy. I could still feel it.
And now he was walking towards me... "Wait, what!" I thought. I'd turn to pudding if he were to come close. Lucky for me, I was a good swimmer and he was not looking. It looked like he was fidgeting with his swimming pants. In a split second I dove underwater and swam sideways as far as I could, when I came above I saw him looking and somewhere I felt flattered by the idea that he might be looking for me. That could not be and before he could lay eyes on me, I dove under again. Repeating this a couple of times I finally got back on the beach about 100 meters further. I went for a walk, I was so overwhelmed by everything I had felt in the last ten minutes. I did not even recognize myself. Butterflies? Arousal? Jealousy?
While I was tying the cords of my swimming pants the smell was gone all of a sudden. I looked up and she was nowhere to be seen, where did she go? I walked a little into the sea and looked for her but did not find her, which had me worried. Then it hit me again, her smell, but faint and suddenly it was gone once again. It made sense to me now, she was swimming under water, probably escaping me.
That hurts, and made me sad. However, all signs pointed at leaving her alone for now. I had to fight my wolf, Thor, for not chasing after her, but I told him we would get our chance later.
Quite some time later, she was still not back. The boys invited the other girls to the party we would attend later tonight. It was just a human party, but we had seen flyers and saw that some good artist were booked for the night and decided to go. Most of the time, as like we did tonight, we bought enough tickets to be able to bring a plus one. All girls had accepted the invitation and we ended up having to buy even more tickets. I also bought one for my mate, but she had not come back yet. I doubted whether she would come tonight and the idea made me dread the evening to come.
In the meantime, I came to know that one of the other girls was a werewolf, too. Her name was Emily, she was quiet and mostly observed the others. She also did not drink any of the alcoholic beverages her friends brought, but sipped on some water. The other girls were too tipsy to notice that one of their friends was gone, but I saw Emily constantly looking around as if to find her. Because the others would not notice it anyway, I approached her and asked what was up, she replied with 'nothing', but that answer did not satisfy me. So I decided to open up to her. "My name is Jack, the Alpha of Black Moon pack, 500 miles East from here. I know you can smell our wolves, as I can smell yours. Now, let me ask again, what's wrong?". Emily gasped, but pulled herself back together just as quick and said: "It's my friend, she's been gone for hours. I swore to protect her, but now I lost her. You are her mate, aren't you?" I wondered how she knew, but what surprised me more was that she mentioned to protect her. What from? I nodded and said "let's go find her". Suddenly Emily squeeked and ran off, and I saw it wasn't necessary anymore. She pulled her friend into a hug and brought her back to the group, that was now quite big, twelve people in total of which six girls and six of mine, including me.
They were still there... I had been gone for hours and they were still there. My heart sank into my shoes as I saw Mr. TDH talk to Emily. She was quiet but so pretty. We went to high school together and she was the closest thing to family I had left. I was going to miss her the most. She was staying here and would take over some family business, while I was heading 500 mile East to attend a private University College. I had won a scholarship that would pay my Bachelor's degree at that University. I can't even remembering entering a competition, I planned on working as a waitress for some years and then continue my studies. Nonetheless, the university Dean claimed that each year they selected winners at random, so that students who would never be able to attend university while they had the capacity and talent to do so, also got a chance.
Nonetheless, Emily was talking to Mr. TDH, and I felt the only chance of impressing him before any of the other girls slip through my fingers. Again, I was so overwhelmed by my sudden and confusing feelings. Earlier, when I was sitting at some beach club, enjoying a very pink smoothie, I managed to calm down and got myself back to reason. It would be silly to get head over heels over some handsome guy while I was leaving tomorrow. Thus, I could not care less about him. But now that I see him with Emily, I am back to where I started. They saw me coming. I could not ignore Emily's squeek and smiled when she ran towards me. The other girls seemed to enjoy their little gathering too much to notice me or that I was gone in the first place. It seemed like Cathy had found herself a new 'perfect match'. Sara was chatting to the Mr. TDH's lookalike and the other two girls were getting very close with the last two guys. Was it a coincidence that both groups consisted of six people?
"Where have you been?" Emily asked while pulling me into a hug and I simply answered that I just took a walk. She did not seem satisfied with that answer but dropped the issue. She simply said a little louder than I expected "Now, let's get to the party!"
