Chapter 7 After running some errands in downtown Dallas, Taylour entered the county jail where Sarah was being held. An antiseptic smell hung in the air as Taylour was led to a private conference room. She pulled out a fresh legal notepad and labeled it with Sarah Cockrell Baines and today's date. When the door opened, Taylour stood up and went to Sarah. She asked the female guard to remove the handcuffs, which she did, and then Taylour thanked the guard, who indicated that she would be right outside. Sarah sat erect on her chair as she faced Taylour. Again with the stiff posture. It suggested to Taylour that Sarah was in a societal class much higher than her own. Taylour did not have a lot of experience with urbanites like Sarah, but the scales of justice were blind to class and stature
