Chapter 32
Sarah slept fitfully that evening. She had the same nightmare as a few days ago, but this time she saw the enemy advancing, the hatred in their eyes and the frothing of the horses as they clamored towards her. She felt real fear, as if she was in mortal danger, and woke up from her legs thrashing.
At breakfast, Sarah asked, "What's on the schedule for today?"
Philip mulled that over before answering. "Well, I've got some errands to run. I've got someone that will stay with you while I'm gone, someone that I trust."
"Oh? Who is it?"
"Her name's Karen, and she's been a Texas Ranger for almost twenty years. I trust her with my life." He glanced at his watch. "She should be here any minute."
