LIFE GOES ON

CHAPTER 6

Chukwuebuka on his side is the adventurous type of person,who never refuse not to look down on new ideas and aspirations.His uncle uchenna got a job for him in a restaurant.The name of the restaurant is daily food restaurant.He was working as a waiter.The restaurant but was owned by a Nigerian.

The name of the director of the restaurant is Maxwell.Maxwell was Uchenna’s colleague in yaba polytechnic but not from the same department,Maxwell read food microbiology.His father being the owner of the land he built the restaurant was using it for block industry before his death.Maxwell father suffered from pneumonia,a respiratory disease caused by infection of foreign materials inside the lungs.

Chukwuebuka was granted the job and was placed on a monthly salary.He wokes up early in the morning,wash the plate,sweep the house,takes a cold bath and moves on his newly found job.Some of chukwuebuka’s colleague that he works with in the morning section are damilola and chukwuma.

Damilola is dark in complexion while chukwuma is fair.Chukwuma helps the cooks chioma,biola and funmi in the kitchen.While Damilola and Chukwuebuka serve as waiter the restaurant.

Damilola is the money-making desperate type who never cease to grab any slightest opportunity that comes his way.He sometimes carry a bag on his back to work.The bag is filled up of cheap canned drinks.He set these canned drinks on the drinks on the drink bars and sell them at higher rate at the restaurant price.

Damilola enticed chukwuebuka with his kind of life style.Chukwuebuka being the adventurous type joined him in his clever but some how unglorified task.Damilola and Chukwuebuka become close friends they share things together.

Damilola did computer programming and networking in advanced computer training institute.And him being cruel in nature uses his study of programming to hack and commit both internet and electronic fraud (Scam).

Chukwuma have noticed the closeness between damilola and chukwuebuka.He queried them on the plans they have that they refused to reveal to him.Damilola did not yield to his unnecessary but curious questions.

Damilola and chukwuebuka continued to earn chicken money from the unglorified cheats they commit in daily food restaurant,but everyday is for the thief

And “one day is for the owner of the house,one day monkey will go to market and will not come back and the mother will not see it”.

Nemesis caught up with Damilola and Chukwuebuka as they were reported to the director of the restaurant to the director of the restaurant by biola,who found out that they used to buy drinks outside and sell in the restaurant at higher rates.

Maxwell the director of the restaurant was angry with them.Maxwell is the type that doesn’t tolerate nonsense and does not play with his restaurant.So he sent damilola and chukwuebuka out without any kobo.

Uchenna got angry with chukwuebuka and was also surprise at chukwuebuka’s attitude.Chukwuebuka have broken the rope of trust between Maxwell and his uncle uchenna.Chukwuebuka on his own side have slowed himself not qualified to be under uchenna’s roof.Uchenna then told him to find what he can do in Lagos,and that anything he finds he can do well he should tell him and he will help him financially.

Chukwuebuka being “Johnny just leisure time” do not know what he even want in Lagos because Lagos is big city compared with his home town where he tapped palm wine with his late father “Okeke”.The only way chukwuebuka use his leisure time by joining some of his street boys to play football.Chukwuebuka likes football to the extent that he spend all his day playing football sometimes.

CHAPTER 7

 One evening,uchenna sent chukwuebuka to buy smoked fish along badagry road,Chukwuebuka was on his way to the errand when he heard a voice from the next lane of the main road calling his name,he turned back and saw his friend Damilola.Damilola crossed the other road and asked him where he was going.Chukwuebuka told him that his uncle sent him on an errand.

Damilola asked him of his where about since they were expelled from daily food restaurant.Chukwuebuka told him that he has not got any job,that he normally stay indoors since then.

Damilola told him about the newest job that he does to help himself and narrated to him how his parents died in accident on their way to his hometown “Akure” in Ogun state.He told him that since then he has been seeking for a way to earn a living and make both ends meet in life.

Chukwuebuka being the curious type asked him of the job he does.Damilola told him that it is a technical job and that he can let him into it if he promise to make it confidential.Damilola told him that later they will discuss about it and gave him his home address.

Chukwuebuka and damilola parted chukwuebuka bought the fish and got home only to be faced by his uncle asking him why it took him much time to buy the fish at a place just a stone throw from their building.Chukwuebuka apologized and his uncle accepted his apology.

Bomo came to visit uchenna that day,so uchenna did not want to make any comment that will make bomo suspect and any flaw in any of them.Bomo went into the kitchen to cook,uchenna sat on the sitting room while chukwuebuka went into his room.

As chukwuebuka flunged himself on his bed,the thought of what damilola told him ran rhythmically through his mind and he thought his mind and he thought of the kind of job Damilola is doing that gave him money to buy that kind of Honda car that was parked beside him on the other lane of the Badagry road.

He made up his mind to visit Damilola so as to engage in his job.

CHAPTER 8

Damilola live opposite army barracks in badagry.His house is painted a with cream coloured tex-coat paint and a well designed interlocking stones is fitted to the floor of his compound.

Chukwuebuka’s mouth was in awe as he step into damilola’s compound.As he walks he ponder on how damilola came to raise such amount within a range of one and half years they left daily foods restaurant.

Damilola welcomed him and popped a bottle of champaign and they drank.Chukwuebuka told damilola that he never cease to amaze him.”How come these luxuries within this space of time?” Chukwuebuka questioned.Chuks my brother,damilola said,when the world gets tough,the tough gets through.

Back to business,damilola said and revealed his secrets to chuks,how he break into peoples account,internet scam etc.Chuks pleaded to join him and he accepted,on one condition,That the Job should be confidential.

Chukwuebuka agreed to keep their business confidential.Then damilola told chukwuebuka to pack into his apartment if he cares.Chukwuebuka told him that he will talk to his uncle about it.Damilola and chukwuebuka planned on how to convinced chukwuebuka to stay with damilola.Then damilola came to a conclusion,to tell his uncle that he got a job as a house cleaner and that the owner of the house wants him to stay with him they agreed at the idea.

Chukwuebuka went home that day coming home with a smile on his face he told his uncle about his newly found job and told him the conditions following the job.

How much is your salary for the job?,His uncle asked,N20,000 chukwuebuka replied.Thats good compare with your previous job which you were paid N 10,000,his uncle said “Yes” Chukwuebuka replied.

His uncle then agreed to free him but on one condition,that he must visit the owner of the building.Chukwuebuka agreed to take him to the owner of the building the next day.In the evening chukwuebuka went to damilola’s house and told him that his uncle would like to see him tomorrow.

CHAPTER 9

In damilola’s house,damilola thought chukwuebuka different types of scam ranging from manual to electronic.Damilola told him that this job requires skill and it is very risky.Chukwuebuka being adventurous told him that he can go extra miles to achieve success.

At first they went for Air Money Scam(ATM) scam.Damilola being chukwuebuka boss shows him the principles of ATM scam.Damilola being chukwuebuka boss shows him the principles of ATM scam and lets him do the job himself.They purchased a card reader constructed with a magnetic casing with the card reader slotted the card reader on any ATM machine that is unsafe or exposed to the society.This card reader records peoples credit card (ATM) code number and serial number in another empty or erased credit card (ATM).

Later chukwuebuka goes to another ATM machine and enters the person’s account pin and withdraws some of his money if not all.Why? Damilola asked him and chukwuebuka told him that it was about him staying in his building.

In the morning,about 11:00am chukwuebuka took his uncle to damilola’s house and damilola well-comed them.

Uchenna asked damilola whether what he told chukwuebuka concerning the job he offered him was true,Damilola said yes.Damilola told uchenna that he would like him to sign an agreement so as to make the job seem very crucial.Uchenna nodded his head and damilola brought the agreement letter and uchenna signed on it.

Damilola told chukwuebuka to write a formal letter addressing it to him,uchenna thanked him.Damilola offered them juice and they drank.They went home that day.

Another of their scam was cell phone scam.Damilola designed an application for cell phone which he uses to tap peoples credit and make call with it while the person have not noticed that his or her Bluetooth was switched on,sometimes they transfer it to their own cell phone.

Damilola and Chukwuebuka eat peoples money in cluds,bars,casinos etc.Through their scams.Nemesis wanted to caught up with Chukwuebuka while he was trying to install a keylogger into a keyboard of a cyber café. He was about losing the caught by the café receptionist.Chukwuebuka told the receptionist that he was just trying to fix a key from the keyboard of the computer that fell out,With that the receptionist ignored him.

Damilola does not pay for electric bills or rather sometimes he pay some amounts compared to the higher electric he has spent by his household devices.

Chukwuebuka was arrested by independent corrupt practices commission while he was trying to install a card reader on ATM machine.He was caught by banks security who later handed him over independent corrupt practices commission(ICPC).He was later detained by the police before further judgement.

Damilola organized a lawyer for him that will depend him on the day of judgement.On the day of judgement,chukwuebuka’s lawyer was present and so was the bank’s journey also and other members of the audience at the law court.

The chief judge read out chkwuebuka’s case.And asked the bank’s attorney to take a podium.The bank’s attorney accused chukwuebuka of trying a breakthrough peoples bank account to steal their money.Objection my lord,Chukwuebuka’s attorney intercepted injection over-ruled,the chief judge said,the banks attorney continued with his accusation of chukwuebuka.

According to 1976 decree section 5,8 and 12 of the criminal act,” The sate government and police should take responsibility over bank fraud,investigate and detain any person found going contrary to the law”,The bank’s attorney quoted,Chukwuebuka being accused found guilty should be penalized, the banks attorney said.

Then the podium was given to chukwuebuka’s attorney.With due respect your respect your majesty,I proclaim Mr Okeke Chukwuebuka not to be accused unnecessary by my colleague.Chukwuebuka is a young hustler that tries to make life easy for him,his attorney said.

The bank’s attorney rose to make another comment,the chief judge objected and adjourned his case.The manager of the bank Mr Charles later told the court to close Chukwuebuka’s case.On the day of the next court Judgement during the verdict the chief judge of the court proclaimed chukwuebuka not guilty and case was closed.

The bank later called chukwuebuka for their board meeting and was given a post as a bank’s security personnel with a good amount of salary,a building and his own personnel car.Chukwuebuka’s heart was filled with joy as his life turns to a better dimension,the thanked his ancestors for such a wonderful fate of his.

Later Chukwuebuka was sent abroad by the bank to get a diploma in software design and programming.Chukwuebuka,coming back was so rich and full of vibrant life.He always advice his village youths to be strong and that tough times never last but tough people do last that they should forget about the past and think about the future.

CHAPTER 10

Back in chukwuebuka’s village,his mother was still living a widow’s life and chiamaka on her side sometimes reflects the sweet memory she shared with his late husband Izunna.

The birds of the air where scattered by the horn of chukwuebuka’s car as he drove into his compound.Chiamaka’s eye could not believe it when she saw that the man in the car was his blood brother chukwuebuka and called out for her mother to come and behold her son.

Akwaugo was very happy to see her son.Chukwuebuka you came back with a lady,who is she?Akwaugo querried she is my wife,chukwuebuka told his mother,her name is chioma,I met her in London when I was doing my diploma in oxford university.

They went inside the sitting room.Akwaugo goes into the kitchen to prepare food for the couples and chukwuebuka left Chiamaka and his wife in the sitting room and went into his room.

Chiamaka went into a dialogue with chioma.Chioma is from Nnewi in Anambra State,The name of her father is Emeagwali,she left Nigeria at the age of eight with his parents to united kingdom,probably London in England.She read biotechnology and molecular biology.

Chukwuebuka’s married was a happy one but one of its demerit was that chioma could told conceive,so chioma told chukwuebuka to go for test-tube baby.Test-tube baby is a way of giving birth in which a man’s sperm is inoculated into a test-tube,the test-tube contains some substrates and atmosphere in a which a foetus(Baby) can grow on.The test-tube serve as the fallopian tube which the substrates serve as an ovary.

The test-tube is then placed inside an incubator at a certain temperature and pressure where the foetus(Baby) can grow or mature.The test-tube baby was a successful one and chukwuebuka gave birth to a baby girl and named her chinelo.
