Chapter 10 “You have to calm down ma’am, it’s not that serious, we have it under control even. Just that we caught this guy trying to take one of the triplets away, he’s claiming the child to be his, that he’s their father, we thought to bring it to your attention before further steps are taken,” The man explained. Sylvie recognized the voice to be that of her kids’ principal. He was calling from their school. “Huh?” Sylvie furrowed her brows, “Oh,” she sighed, her mind coming to ease. “This guy you talked about, do you know his name or anything about him? Is he still with you?” She quizzed. “He is still with us, and he’s not telling us who he is other than being the kid’s father-“ “Whoever that is not the father of my kids!” Sylvie chirped into the man’s sentence. “Please keep him with you, I’ll be right there.” Sylvie told him, dropping the call. She looked at Mikel who has his stoic gaze on her the whole time. He nodded at her, “You can go,” he said, and immediately walked out of her sight. Sylvie blinked in confusion, a bit struck by Mikel’s unpredictability. She was expecting herself to struggle a yes out of him for wanting to get off early, and then he straight up allowed her; without her even having to ask. Sylvie instantly grabbed her handbag, cleared her table and rushed out of the building after signing off work. She boarded a cab straight for her kids’s school, in hurry to meet the apprehended stranger claiming ownership of her kids. Minutes later, Sylvie arrived at the school, she settled the driver and went straight inside. She’s familiar with the paths to the principal’s office and instantly went there. She knocked hard on his door, “Mr Huggins, it’s Sylvie Richard. I’m here,” she announced, while continuously knocking on his door. The door pulled open to reveal a middle aged man with a smiley face, “Please come in, madam.” He gestured politely. “No thanks, but where is this man you guys have detained? I need to see the bastard trying to steal my kids?” She quested, anger coating her all over. “Ma’am, it’s nothing, we have it under control and you need to calm-“ “Just get me the bastard will you, Mr Huggins? Please.” Sylvie feigned a slight smile to mask just how furious she is, she’s in hurry to get her hands on the scoundrel trying to kidnap her children. “He’s held inside my office,” “Bring him out!” She ordered. “Huh?” “You wouldn’t want your office becoming a mess right?” She hinted at her feral thoughts. The principal nodded as he marched back into his office, returning a second later with a man held in control by two guards. Sylvie trailed her gaze to this man, “Dylan?” Her brows furrowed at the sight of him. “You know him?” The principal stared quizzically. “It was you who wanted to kidnap my kids?” Sylvie asked again, as if coming to realization. The confusion expressed on her face slowly morphing into anger as she took delicate steps towards him. “When did you plan to tell me that he’s my boy? Or are you planning to keep it a secret forever? As a means of revenge for our past? Huh-“ his words hanged when a slap slammed hard against his cheeks. “How dare you?” She worded in pure rage as she grabbed him by his collar, squeezing it to apply pressure on his neck. “I’m going to kill you!!!” She announced, pressing hard on his neck. “Ma’am, ma’am, please we can’t allow that in here.” The principal had to interfere, placing a palm on Sylvie’s shoulder in attempt to calm her down. “It’s obvious you two are familiar with each other, and connected with a past. I reckon you both deal with it outside the school premises, I’m sorry.” Mr Huggins addressed, signaling his guards to let go of Dylan. Sylvie sighed, letting go of her hold on Dylan as she whirled to face the principal. “This man is a no father of my kids, or a relative or a friend. He’s a stranger to them, and you’re mandated to do everything to keep him away from them cause he’s a dangerous man. If anything happens to my kids while they’re here in your school, under your protection, you’ll have me and the law to deal with. I appreciate your actions today, keep it up and have a nice day Mr Huggins.” She flashed him a tight smile, and proceed to walk out of his sight. “Sylvie!” Dylan called, marching right after her and increasing his pace to catch up with her. Sylvie ignored his calls, brought out her phone to check the time so she’d know whether it’d be fertile to wait around and pick up her kids. “Sylvie!” He called in a rough voice, finally by her side as he grabbed her wrist without consent, and began pulling her to match his fast pace as they trotted out of the hallway. “Let me go you filthy bastard!” Sylvie screamed at him as she struggled to escape his grip. “Let me go before I accused you of who you already are, a monster!” She threatened. Dylan said nothing, nor did he release his hold on her wrist until they’ve exited the school and stood in the open space of the school’s environment. “I know the boy I saw yesterday doesn’t belong to your new man, I know he’s my child. And I came here to see him, to talk to him because I know you hate me you’ll never introduce them to me. I’m sorry about our past, but you can’t keep him away from me. And I’m also for our past, this child is a reason we should it behind us.” He began, folding his arms as he mouthed his claim on Sylvie’s son. Sylvie stared at him, nothing except pain visible in her eyes. “This isn’t your fault you know? How long has it been?” She asked, “Seven years right?” “You think of me as no more than the fool you used right? A fool who would forever be stuck onto our past, onto you. Because what? You were my first love, the guy I would die for,” she snickered at her own words, how painful they sound to her ears. “Well,” she exhaled a long deep breath. “Not anymore, I’m over the trauma you put me through, I’m over my experience with you. You’re nothing but a piece of trash I’m going to toss around, stomp on, and then burn when the time is right. For now, stay away from my kids, my triplets doesn’t belong to you and are not yours. Failure to heed my warning would have you a serious case with the law.” “Triplets? My kids are triplets?” As if deaf to all she said, he picked a certain part out to rejoice about. “Sylvie you have to introduce me to my kids, I don’t care whether you’ve forgiven me or not, I just want them to know who their father is. I’m giving you a weak total, else-“ he paused, a psychotic smile pulling on his face. “Let’s not talk about what I’d do if you fail to comply my love, do it or you’re going to really really hate me more.” He moved in on their distance, leaned and placed a soft kiss on her cheek, then walked away.
