CHAPTER NINE ELISA The smells of coffee and something sweet and indescribably delicious lure me from sleep in a cozy bed that I’ve never been in before. Luke’s bed, I realize as the events of the previous day rush up to my awareness. Luke’s friend Ravi and his meditation retreat. Angry confrontation. Luke defending me and ending the visit with his friend at my request. Showing me his other form… and isn’t he just the best golden retriever ever?
