CHAPTER NINETEEN
ELISA
Falling asleep in Luke’s arms is so much easier than drifting off alone. His soft snores and his warmth soothe me. It’s so odd that while cold makes me sleepy, it’s a kind of anxious fatigue. Warmth makes me feel secure. Part of that could also be Luke’s big body. Hard to imagine being unsafe with a tall, strong, bulky guy by my side.
His cologne mingles with a hint of sweat and the rose and jasmine diffuser Ravi has placed in the corner.
Through the window, I can see one of the many meditation gardens Ravi has constructed. I could almost live here. It’s so peaceful. An oasis of calm in a chaotic world. At least, I should incorporate some soothing elements into the décor of my apartment.
