“Welcome back, Luke. It’s good to see you again,” Dr. Williams says, though her tone is neutral. “I take it you and Elisa worked out the issue?”
“Yes, ma’am, we did,” he replies.
“And who is this?” She indicates Ravi, who has also crowded into the small therapy office. “Elisa, it’s not typical to bring friends to therapy, though I’m glad if you’re reaching out.”
I take a deep breath. “Actually, Dr. Williams, this is as much for you as for me. See, if we’re going to continue, I have to be honest with you, and it’s getting too complicated to conceal this discovery without lying. Ravi has agreed I can introduce you to him and our community so you can see what I’m trying to accomplish these days, and… it might be beneficial to your career as well to work with this new group
