The ground floor of the house is open planned, kitchen, dining room and living room all flowing seamlessly into one another, the french doors that lead into the garden are opposite the main door, living room and kitchen are off to the left, dining room and the staircase to the second floor are on the right.
"You have already found and acquainted yourself with the kitchen,” I said with a grin, “so we don’t need to spend much time discussing the merits of it,”
"Yep, and I also know that you're well stocked up on beer!" I laughed, “that’s the most important content right there.”
"The garden's through there, but I'll show you it some other time, it's a bit creepy out there when it's dark" I explained, turning away from the French windows to the dining room.
After I showed him round the rest of the first floor, "now for upstairs," I said heading for the stairs, "Did you do all the decorating?" he asked, "yep, all on my own."
"Derrick didn't help?"
"Would you give it a rest?" I said with a laugh.
"No, I'd help my girlfriend if she was decorating... I was just curious..."
"Well, you're one of a kind!" I said laughing but meaning it seriously.
"Ok, that means no, right?"
I laughed, "what difference does it make?"
"Well, it just shows..." he broke his sentence off as we reached the landing where I had a few framed photos on a table, three of them were of Matt and I, the other two were of me and my parents.
He picked one of them up slowly, "remember the day that one was taken?" I asked, he nodded.
The picture was of the two of us, we were obviously happy, he was standing behind me, holding me tightly and resting his chin on my shoulder, both of us grinning widely. The reason being that we had skipped classes to run down to the beach seeing as we both thought it was a waste of a day to spend in lectures, we were feeling elated for escaping, but it was that day that I discovered my feelings, my true feelings for him... And it was that day that he confessed how much I meant to him...
Just looking at that photo brought back the memories, making me relive all the sensations and feelings that ran through me as he pulled me close and looked into my eyes telling me that he loved me... The rush of emotions, the weakness in my knees, the feeling that I was floating...
"Cass...?"
I snapped back to reality, "hmmm?"
"We were in the middle of a tour or supposed to be..." he said grinning, "oh yeah," I said noticing that he also seemed to be thinking back to that day at the beach.
"My room!" I said triumphantly, last of all, "whoa... this is definitely you," he said as he inspected my work, I grinned, "yep! 100%."
He jumped on the bed, "this is comfortable... Mind if I stay over once in a while?" he asked mischievously, I laughed, "yeah I mind!" I said jokingly, "this is my room! You can claim any of the other rooms!"
"No, I like this one... So if you don't want to share this room with me, you can move out!"
I laughed, "up you get!" I said pulling him up, "come on..."
"Hey, wait!" he said with a wicked grin, “what?” I asked, before I saw him feel the surface of the covers, and I tried to think of what hard objects I might have left lying between the sheets, blushing.
"... Uh, maybe you don't wanna do that!" I said cringing a little.
"Ooooh, what are you hiding?" he asked, getting excited at the prospect of what he might find.
"Nothing..." I said trying to act dismissively, but grinning, "you're the worst liar ever!"
I just laughed, "it's none of your business!" and I sat down on top of the unknown object. It felt like a book, and I instantly knew which one it was, “ha! Now you can’t get to it. Now, let’s continue the tour…”
“I wanna know what you’re hiding, and I hate to break it to you, but you’re gonna have to get up at some stage.”
“Nope.” I said giggling, and lying down on top of the book, “I’m just gonna stay right here… forever!” and I poked my tongue out at him.
“Fine!” he said, “but I’ve already got it!” he pulled the book from under the covers with a flourish, “how did you…?”
“Magic… and … seriously?” he said laughing, after looking at what he had found, “50 Shades?”
I blushed, “guilty pleasure.” I said, “although, if I’m honest, the writing is appalling and she has the subject matter completely wrong… that’s not how real D/s relationships work… but, it passes the time.”
“Do tell me more, my little expert.” at that I burst out laughing, “hardly an expert.” to my horror he opens the book at random and starts reading out loud: “Before I know it, he’s got both of my hands in his viselike grip above my head, and he’s pinning me to the wall using his lips … His other hand grabs my hair and yanks down, bringing my face up, and his lips are on mine …
Oooh, Cass- this is interesting,” he said looking for another juicy passage to read.
I pounced on him to try to get it away from his grasp, and to stop him from reading any more of it; play wrestling, "ok, surrender!" I said as I sat over him pinning him down, he just laughed, with one swift movement he was on top of me, suddenly we were looking at each other, I realized that I'd been holding my breath.
I laughed softly, "You win!" I said, avoiding looking him in the eye, the feeling of having him so close was causing havoc with my senses. I was scared of doing something, saying something. This was too close to becoming the scene he had just read out of the book.
We got up, acting as if nothing had happened.
I was grinning to myself, one day back and we were already having trouble with boundaries, distance and being appropriate.
‘What if Derrick had walked in on us?’ That thought brought me back to reality, making me recall the way things were supposed to be between us.
By the time we got back down to the kitchen, we were back to 'normal'. “Pizza or cheese on toast?” I asked, still glowing from the scene that just happened upstairs. I scolded myself for my foolishness, I shouldn't be acting that way around him, but it's not every day you have your sort-of-ex-boyfriend over for supper, especially as we didn't exactly break up!
“Ooh, cheese on toast, and a cold beer wouldn’t be bad,”
“Coming right up.”

After supper I suggested going somewhere, but that suggestion didn't get far, all we did was sit back down and talk... I hadn't realised how fast the time had gone by and before I knew it, it was midnight.
That surprised me for never had the time gone by so quickly, usually it seemed to drag by each day seemed to last an eternity, but with him it was totally different. It had always been that way with us, and it felt good to know that at least one thing was the same.
"Wanna come and see my place?" he asked some time later, "I'd love to," I said enthusiastically, "well, come on then," he said, I was surprised, "what now?" I asked, "yeah, why not?"
"It's past midnight!" I said laughing.
"Since when has midnight meant anything to us?"
That made me grin, "I suppose you're right. I'll just go get changed, it's cold out!"
"Ok, but..."
"But I'll be right down." I said running up the stairs.
I pulled on a warm sweater and a pair of trainers, tied my hair back in a ponytail and ran back down in record time.
"That was fast!"
"I can be when I want to be!" I said with a cheeky wink, laughing as we walked out.
