I found a path that went through the woods. Though I had seen many paths, this one is well used and I figured that meant the village would be that way.
As I walked down the path I bean to feel more at ease. Though I passed several pack members it was peaceful. Turmoil did not seem to exist in this part of the pack. The sun peaked through the trees and it was cool.
Many members I passed were running but just as a part of their routine.
Then coming up the path I saw a man larger than the Alpha king himself. He wore a teeshirt and shorts and seemed to be enjoying his walk as well.
Only thing is that I felt drawn to him.
'Mate?' Sage said curiously perking up a little.
It didn't feel like Xaivier though... he felt like... a summer breeze, light and welcoming. All my problems felt alittle less problematic as we approach eachother. He also saw me and a small smile graced his lips.
Soon enough we stood infront of eachother. I looked at him with curiosity.
He has chocolaty brown eyes and looked like a giant teddy bear.
"Hello. You must be Katerina." his voice broke me out of my trance.
"Who are you?" I asked him curiously. He smiled bigger.
"I am Aiden, the Royal Beta." Oh... Xaivier's right hand. My face fell a bit. "Oh come now, it can't be that awful." he laughed.
"If you only knew." I smirked and walked around him, continuing down the path.
"Well I'm not here to disappoint. I'm happy to meet you." he said walking up beside me.
"Are we mates?" I tried to seem as if I weren't having an internal show of cussing and scrambling in my mind about this whole situation.
"Yes, but secondary mates. Not that it means I'll care any less for you." Care about me? Why is the King and Beta so adamant to have this relationship with me? Am I going to have to bow to them both?
Now I'm freaking out. Still I didn't let it show.
"Xaivier seems to think you'd talk to me." he interrupted my thoughts.
"I'm not much of a talker." I shrugged.
"Heard you had a run in with Amber." Man I can't decide if it's good they talk alot or not.
I huffed out a sigh and turned to look at him.
"I didn't hardly say a word to her. I assume you'd already know that cause she probably got pissed off about it. Then I'm sure she ran straight to Xaivier to complain about me not talking and here you are." I grew angry as I worked though it. "I hate to disappoint but I don't give a f**k about any of it. I'm not here to be manipulated and played with like this is the most important thing in the world. I came here for a job and that's all I want to do. Go ahead and tell them that." With that I walked off breaking the eye contact. I hoped he would stay away and thankfully he did.
I may be many things but I'm not a toy.
A few hours later I found myself back at the packhouse. At the end of the path I walked was the town as I guessed. I got bored and now I'm back here.
I went in to see Xaivier, Aiden and Amber eating lunch together. I ignored them and went up to my room to pull out my maps. I had a feeling I knew what The King wanted to find.
I marked likely places to get the information needed and went back down to find the office.
Normally one would need permission to enter the office or be a high ranking wolf. Because they did not know my rank o would be an intruder. If and when they figure out my rank I'd definitely not be allowed in. Not for the typical reasons either. I shook that thought off as I approached the door.
"This was a dead end too. The rogues are not happy with us right now I really don't think we will get far with them." A voice I hadn't heard came from inside.
"Is there any way we could get ahold of the sigmas then?" The Alpha King asked the man.
"No one knows. They won't tell us where any of them might be let alone who." he answered.
"We know at least one. Did you use his name?" the king asked again.
"No one will give us any hints as to where Rulf might be either."
I knew this sigma. He and I got along and we considered ourselves as part of the same group of sigmas. To have royals asking for you by name wasn't a good thing. He was certainly in hiding and it would be near impossible for anyone to find him.
That didn't matter right now though. If I walked in there now with all this information they would know.
They would figure out exactly who I am and I wouldnt be able to deny it.
For a solid moment I thought hard about it. I know I'm running out of time and that the Worrior that spoke to him now would be coming out any moment to see me ease dropping.
I straightened myself. I have a job to do. Plus it was getting bigger than that. I had to do this.
I barged into the room shutting the door behind me quickly.
Everyone looked at me and I ignored them putting the maps and papers on the large table. The Alpha occupied one end and before he could say anything, I spoke.
"All the Sigma's have gone into hiding and even more so now that you have used Rulf's name." I continued not letting anyone speak as I layed out the maps and began pointing. "These are likely places to get your information but you will want to be more secretive about it. Don't announce yourself and take out your peircings. Go undercover. Do not drop my name or any other Sigmas name." When I finished the Alpha king was standing and I made eye contact.
"You're a Sigma."
I'm sure im being rejected now.
