14. The bar

Kats POV "How is it that I continue to stay here and why?" Evan and Vera sat with me at the bar. "Every time I try and push him away he just continues on like I'm still not contemplating leaving. It's like something else takes over me." They listened to my mini rant. Well Vera was listening and wasn't sure what to do as I didn't normal rant to her. Evan on the other hand was looking at his food with a frown. I sighed, "Great not even you have advice." "What? Sorry I'm just thinking." Evan said lifting his head. I rolled my eyes with him and gestured to the Bartender. "Get me wisky and a craft ale something good." I asked the tender. "Sooo...." Evan said slowly to us. "I found my mate." Both Vera and I gaped at him. "Now you tell us?" I mumbled at him. Vera seemed to be trying to absorb as much of this all in as she could. She looked like a fish out if water. When the bartender brought my drinks I ordered a double of vodka for Evan. "He or she?" I asked as I sipped my wisky he took a shot. "She." he stated. Then he zoned out. "She is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen." I gave him a deadpan look. "Dude, seirioisly? What are we even doing?" "I think I'm falling in love. I couldn't even say 'hi'." Evan said looking disappointed. "Oh g*d what did you do? Take one look at eachother and run?" I predicted rolling my eyes. Evan groned and put his head in his hands. "I know. I'm an idiot." "Well at least you have a chance to properly introduce yourself. My mate keeps giving me mixed signals." I finished my ale wanting more. "Someone can give YOU mixed signals?" Vera cut in. "Aperently." I said lowly. "Ya know I dont think I have ever seen you so... I don't know... Tame? Maybe that's what mates do to us though." Evan spoke apprehensively. I raised an eyebrow at him. "I'm not "tame" I just dont know what to think or... feel." I mumbled, drinking the shot placed infront of me. "I'm killer. Its what I'm good at. I don't even know if they realize who I am or what I've done. Let alone what I stand for. I mean I'm doing my best not to challenge anyone even." "Why don't you want to challenge anyone?" Vera asked "Because I'll have a place in the pack." "Why do you make that sound like a bad thing?" Evan asked me. "I mean we could have a place in the pack. It could be home here." he continued sounding in awe of the idea. "Then what have pups grow old and die?" To my surprise Vera said it. "Well do you really prefer not to grow old and have to fight for your life all alone with your self to blame."Evan retorted. I decided I didn't want to be in the conversation anymore and started to ignore them. I saw a few of the pack members look in our way but one group in particular looked as though they wanted to pick a fight. I watched as the big burly man walked over to us. "What now the Alpha hosting these rogues now?" he said gruffly eyeing each of us. "Watch it there, we weren't doing anything but talking amongst ourselves."Evan stood in front of us. Now the man definitely took it as a protective move for us. little did he know it was more to protect him. "Your presence here speaks loud ebough." the man responded. "Now I'll warn ya, ya best take yourself and these b****s out before we take ya out." Vera pushed past Evan and got up into the man's face standing tall. "What the f**k are you gonna do about it?" The man's face turned red in anger. I stood up ready to break up the fight and three of his goons stood behind him ready too. The consequences of fighting would be the very thing I wasn't sure I was ready for but at the same time if this is happening now it must be time to decide. Earn my place in the pack or leave now. "Put you in your place pup." The man snarled. I let out a chilling laugh as I moved to the side leaning on the bar casually in his sight. "That would be interesting but really we don't need the theatrics. Stand down guys it's not worth getting in trouble with the King." I directed the last part to Evan and Vera and they stepped back reluctantly. "Who exactly do you think you are?" now the man targeted me. He would live to regret it. "Only your future Luna." I picked up another beer finally starting to feel the effects of the alcohol. The man laughed. "Josh is our future Luna King not you." "Well looks as though times have changed. I'm the Alpha Kings primary mate and I will be taking position of Luna Queen." I said confidentiality. It felt different saying it than i thought I would, I feel powerful. No feeling of being lesser or less... The man looked pissed and lunged for me grabbing my beer and throwing it, smashing it to bits. He grabbed me by the neck turning me around slamming my face onto the bar. Gasps and whispers broke out and I faintly heard someone say to call the Alpha but I didn't care. He started it so now I would finnish it. I smiled big and grabbed him pulling us away from the bar and taking a step back from him just to go for his legs. "What the-" he didn't have time to Finnish as I slowed him to the ground hitting his head on a chair mid way. A gash formed on his head bleeding instantly. His goons joined in going for me and I dodged precisely shoving one off to the side grabbing a chair and putting the legs of it over the others body pushing until he fell and I stepped on him whipping the chair around taking out the Burly man that had gotten up behind me. I took a step back admiring my work of a pile of scrambling limbs. One of the goons got up again and I grabbed him by the hair pulling him to the floor and then dragged him by his hair to the bar door, efectivly kicking him in the chest down the stairs and he fell onto the ground with a thud and a few cracks as he shifted. "That's enough!" Alpha shouted walking quickly up to the scene.
