10. Into town

Evan, Vera and Minnie listened to what happened. They figured due to what Aiden had said to just let it go for now and see if more talk comes around after a bit.

We then decided to go into the town and find a place that might have coffee.

We walked the peaceful path, the three of them teasing eachother and gently shoving eachother in a game.

We came across a lovely coffee shop. The wolves who ran this shop were old, but sweet. They knew coffee that was for sure. I thought as I took a sip of my plain Macchiato. The girls got something sweet and icy. Evan got a flat white another of my favorites and we tasted eachothers drink knodding in approval as we switched back.

We sat like normal friends in a coffee shop. Laughing with eachother.

"So, now what are we supposed to do with ourselves?" Vera asked breaking the moment as we fell silent at a loss of what to do.

"Well... we could see if there is a swimming hole." Minnie suggested hopefully.

I thought for a moment figuring as long as we remained in pack boundaries we had warriors to warn us if something happened.

Just then the old man and woman came over.

"I hear ya looking for a place to swim." The woman said in a thick Irish accent. "There is a river that cuts through our land not too far that way." she pointed directly out the door towards the woods that led further from the packhouse and town. "But don't go to the falls that way. That is for the Royal Alpha and his mates only." This peaked my interest and I didn't miss the woman's knowing look towards me. I wasn't supposed to bring them there and that was fine. I'd go our later to find the place I could be by the water alone like I loved to do.

"Can we go?" Minnie asked in excitement. The others looked to me also excited.

"We Don't have anything to swim in." I told them sternly.

"There be a shop three stores down from here." The man said pointing right.

"Thank you for your kindness but we don't have any money" I didn't add on the the Alpha had stripped us of most our money. The only thing he didn't take is what we carried with us and it wasn't enough for swimsuits.

"If I'm correct in my assumption you are the Alphas mate. They will give them to you free of charge." The man added. I realized now they hadn't made is pay for our drinks either.

"Here for the drinks. I don't take from others. Thank you for your kindness though." They both shook their heads refusing to take what I offered.

"Here I'll walk yous down." the old man said giving his wife a passionate kiss. He left no room for argument. The way they treated eachother made me realize for a moment that I could have that. I hadn't even realized it was something I wanted, I never thought on it before.

I shook myself of the thought and we followed the man. He had attempted to bow for me and I had none of that sternly telling him not to. I was even ready to BEG him not to bow.

I never begged. Begging was something ripped from me. I had begged so much to stop the pain many times and each time it had fallen on deaf ears. Eventually I vowed to myself to never beg again and my Wolf agreed.

Yet here I was, ready to beg this man and anyone else for that matter to never bow to me. I would not have it.

We got our suits thanking the young woman who owned the clothing store and we changed in the dressing room.

I wore a two peice not caring that it shown my scars. I wore my cloths over them and the only ones with me had seen my scars before.

Other than my scars I loved my body. The curves would entice any man or woman for that matter to give me what I wanted just for me to deny them payment with my body. I'm built to kill I'm also built for a good f**k.

We thanked her and headed out the door in the direction than man pointed.

Minnie went ahead of us a bit of pep in her step. This is the outcome I wanted for anyone I helped in my years.

We made it to the river and I could see where most swam buy the way the plants were worn near the edges.

"Minnie don't get in here." I told her just before she went in. "Let's go upstream a bit." I didn't want anyone to just come up on us so I led them up a bit finding a place that wasn't as beat down with use.

Minnie screamed about the cold. "Well you shouldn't have just dove in!" Evan exclaimed to her. I knew Vera would have laughed if she currently wasn't adjusting to the water eyeing Evan who was sure to start splashing her.

I watch for a bit before getting too hot in the, now afternoon, sun. I also came here to keep from eyes that would see my scars. Most would gasp and stare. I don't blame them, but I'd rather save everyone the pain of it.

I jumped in without complaint swimming to the middle of the large river. I enjoyed swimming against the current it was the coolest and furthest from the others.

As I was floating down after having swam up I heard Vera exclaim. "Ah! Oh! Well hello..." I looked over and wouldn't you know my 5 mates were walking over to get into the water with us. I saw Evan and Vera look my way and Minnie was introducing herself to Josh who had jumped in like a puppy ready to play.

I started to slowly make my way over in no rush to get out of the water where they could see my body. Speaking of body Xaivier removed his shirt. If I thought this man could kill me before I certainly knew he could now. His body, like mine, was designed to kill and promised a good f**k. My mouth watered out of my control.

I couldn't take my eyes off him.

When my eyes made their way back to his face he looked right back at me. A c***y smirk played at his lips and amusement shown in his eyes.

I glared at him and focused back on swimming while he let out a laugh.

When my feet finally touched I stood making my way to shore.

bit by bit parts of my body began to show. Each scar that had been an attempt to weaken me some even to take my life.

The first gasp came from Amber. I ignored it and stopped paying attention to any of them as I focused on getting to my clothing.

I went to pick up my shirt "What are you doing?" The Alpha asked now standing next to me.

I didn't answer him my face beginning to heat as I hurried to get clothing on to stop the stares. I didn't want to see the look of pitty in there eyes... especially the Alphas. The signs of pain most no one would know, painted my skin in rough odd slashes, standing out from within my skin.

My movements to put my shirt on were halted. I looked up to end up looking directly into the Alphas eyes.

Instead of pitty his eyes are hot with... desire?

"Stay. We came to swim with you and your friends." He was being honest. "Becides you are gorgeous. I want to look at you as you looked at me if that is not too much to ask."

'Yes please!' Sage squeeled loud in my mind. It took me by surprize and I dropped the shirt opting to lay in the grass to warm up again.

Xaivier lay beside me and I stay silent.

After a moment I looked over at him to see him bask in the sun. To my surprise he stared back at me.

I felt a pull I have never felt before and I lent into it. Moving closer to him I was stuck in a trance.

Until there was a splash and cold water snapped me out of it.

I jolted up to see a smirking Vera.

"Hey!" Xaivier also jolted up looking rather pissed.

Before he could do anything I got to my feet "Better start running little s**t." I had to give her credit she tried but not fast enough.

I hooked my arm around her neck going nearly full speed and yanked her down beneath the water.
