Chapter Thirteen.
“There's someone behind closed doors, quietly buying shares of his company,” Chase revealed.
Quinn's breath caught in her throat as she let Chase’s words settle. The air in the room seemed to thicken as she processed the information.
She leaned back, scrunching her face in confusion.
"Someone is buying shares?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. "But why would anyone do that quietly? If it’s public knowledge that the company is struggling, why not just—"
"Because it’s not just about taking over the company," Chase interrupted, his eyes darkening. "It’s all about control in the business world. Whoever is buying those shares doesn’t want the public to know and doesn’t want anyone to make a move to stop them. They want to remain in the shadows while they manipulate things
