Amelia “Calm down, Lia. Calm down,” Mother yelled, rushing into the house. Her words fell on deaf ears as I struck down the first vase my eyes caught, smashing it. “Lia!” she yelled, stomping over to me. At the same time, I pushed over the mini glass table, breaking it. She grabbed my arm, trying to force me to calm down. “Get away from me!” I shoved her hard. She stumbled, then fell on top of the broken glass. For a split second, I was dumbfounded—staring at her split elbow and palm, watching the blood pump out. But soon, I was overwhelmed with anger and continued my rampage.
