"PASSION FOR LOVE"

A TEST OF LOVE

Time flies so fast when you are in love, they say. The couple have had a great time ever since they were together. Oftentimes, Jim always brings food and Beige’s favorite cup of coffee after every job. He always goes to her apartment. He cooks for her. He always shows her that he truly adores her. For a time, they both enjoyed that kind of set up. They were happy and in love. It’s like they have their own little world when they are together. One night when Jim was sleeping, Beige was so moved by their love story and Jim’s efforts for her all the time. She even writes a one stanza poem for him expressing her love for this man. It reads,

My love for you will never stop,

as long as I am still alive.

My love for you will never end,

as long as you’re there.

Jim suddenly wakes up from the loud thunder outside. He sees Beige looking so stunning and cute while staring at him. He kissed her so tenderly. They both shared a cozy and wonderful night together. Everything is going fine between the two of them until one day there was going to be a message from her dream company asking her to work for them because they were able to read some of her works, published online. She immediately shared this good news with Jim. He was really happy for her, he knew that it was a great success for her and a big step in finally committing to her lifelong dream. They both celebrated that achievement of hers. She was so sure that time that she would quit her job and accept the offer. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity and she will not take it for granted. But what she didn’t tell him yet, was that she needed to go back to her old place, to her family, because that is where her future is located. She was not ready to confess to him yet. She dearly loves him but she doesn’t want to lose this chance given to her. That night, she was torn about which she would choose. She knows it will take a lot of sacrifices. “Will his love for me be so deep that he will understand if I will give my full attention to this? said Beige. She can’t sleep thinking about what she will do. The next morning, she receives a message from her sister that they will get her by next week so that she will not have to drive herself alone to go back to their place. She went to work and informed her boss. They are all happy about her new journey. They all believe that she deserves it. They all wish her well and respect her decision. Her boss also said to her that she was glad to meet Beige. She is thankful and grateful for her contributions to their company. They all said goodbye to her. One chapter of her life ended that day but she knew there was a bigger opportunity waiting for her back home. She meets with Jim that night. They had a great dinner. Jim, as a proud boyfriend, sings a song for her in front of many people. Her heart was touched again; she knew how much Jim loved her. She felt so guilty because she knew she would break his heart when she told him the truth. They sat down and started talking about random things until Jim asks her where this company is that she is talking about so that she can take her there daily. Beige was too scared to speak; she didn’t know how to begin. But she knew that Jim deserved the truth. She told Jim that she didn’t expect to find love while being there in that small city. She confesses to him that the only reason why she is there is because she wants to practice living away from her family. That her dream company is located near her place and now that her prayers are all granted she will need to go back to her first home. She told him that she would leave next week. But, she reassures him that they will still contact and reach out to each other still. She sobs and she hopes that he will favor her. “Hold on, I want you Jim. Hold on, I still need you. I love you, my love Jim.” Tears started to fall from Jim’s eyes. He was devastated because he knew that her place was far from where they first met. He couldn’t move, but still, with so much love, he tried to understand her. “Ever since I knew you Beige, I know how much you are really into fulfilling your goals in life, but why is it so hard now? I can’t afford to see you leave this place.” claimed Jim. Beige tried to calm him down and said to him that nothing would ever change, that in time they would still be together. “Just give me some time, Jim, to have this one. You know how important this is for me. I’ve been waiting for my whole life to have this big break. Hold on, Jim. Wait for me, until I come back for you, for us, my love.” said Beige. That night ended with so many emotions. They went home safe and sound. Jim was very sad but he knew that he needed to let go of her. It was a sunny Saturday morning; she was ready to leave. Her family is already there, excited to pick her up. From far, Jim watches his love of his life vanishing in that very special place. Beige sees her and asks him to come near. They said goodbye to each other. “We never break up, okay? We just parted ways for only a short time.” I hope you commit your endeavors also, Jim. I’ll see you soon.” What a lonely sight! A beautiful love story that hopefully won’t change when time passes by, someone said. Jim wasn’t formally introduced to Beige’s family because they were all in a hurry. As the car started to run, his tears burst and he couldn’t help himself. He cannot handle seeing her go. Beige started to cry also, her mother and sister tapped her back to comfort her. “Look, we don’t have any idea how hard this is for you. That your staying here makes you meet another person. Obviously, you’re in love with that man. If he really loves you, he will wait and understand you. But for now darling, it’s time to go back home, chase that dream first,” her father said. Jim’s heart breaks into tiny little pieces. He wasn’t able to tell her that from time to time that he was with her, his dream changed. His biggest goal long after he met Beige was to make her happy. He wasn’t aware that setting and letting her go was the biggest risk he needed to take to make her happier. But, his love for her will stay strong until she comes back. He will wait for her, that’s for sure.
