"PASSION FOR LOVE"

WHERE IT ALL STARTED

Beige used to live independently before. It was too hard for her mom to let go of her, but her dad made her mom understand that it was about time to set her free in order for her to spread her wings. Difficult it may seem, but she had no choice but to see her first born walking away from their home. Beige started to work as a writer for a small company. Her humble beginnings inspired her more to work hard for better opportunities waiting ahead of her. Even though she came from a wealthy family, she never relies on her family to help her, especially in terms of her career. She really pushes herself to the best of her ability. She has full potential and, with her dedication, motivation and hard work in her job, she believes that one day she will reach her dream to be one of those well-known writers who writes to touch the lives of others by using the power of words. One day, while she was very busy with her work, there was a man who approached and walked towards her and gave her a coffee. Beige didn’t notice him right away; she was too occupied. Jim, on the other hand, is an orphan. His dad passed away when he was still young. His mom left him for another family when she knew that Jim could take good care of himself already. It was his grandmother who really raised and loved him sincerely. But, a year ago she died because of an illness. After that, it was only him who found ways to survive in this thing called life. He strives to finish his studies and work as a waiter in a restaurant. He also longs to be a manager someday. That’s why he tries his best each and every time he works. There are so many ladies who are into him because of his good-looking face and very strong posture. In fact, his colleagues often tease him. They all claimed that they were thankful to him because there were so many guests who came to their store to dine just to see him. Jim just laughed it off. Jim didn’t go after he put the cup of coffee on Beige’s table. Until such time, she notices him. She was shocked and it slipped onto the floor. “Oh, oh. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you,” said Jim. Beige was too shy and said she would be the one who would clean up the mess. Jim insisted that it was okay and told her that it was not her fault. “I was just actually looking at you the whole time, since you are not responding, I managed to bring the coffee to you by myself, but even if I’m already standing here, you didn’t seem to bother. I just thought you were that busy to forget that you also came here not only for work but to order our famous cappuccino coffee,” stressed Jim while sarcastically smiling at her. Upon hearing it, Beige was very embarrassed and just offered to buy another one. Jim told her to just continue working and finish her job. He replaces it and even says to her, it’s on the house. He smiles and Beige embarrassingly smiles too, while sipping the coffee. After an hour, she was able to complete her task and decided to go home. But, before she went home, she looked for Jim first. “Hey, I’m really sorry for what happened a while ago and thank you for freeing me today. I owe you one. Next time, it’s my treat.” Jim nods and Beige immediately runs so fast when she sees the bus. When she is inside, she sits near the window and she can still see Jim staring at her. They both smile and call it a day.
