Levi’s POV:
I pay careful attention to Dahnya during our ride back to the city. How is she handling all of this? How much more information can she take before she cracks like a nut? I feel her eyes on me every so often. Her nose was scrunched up just a minute ago like some absurd thought crossed her mind, but from the corner of my eye, I see that her expression has softened yet again.
I continue to focus on the road and let her and her private thoughts be. Perhaps, it is a good thing that I can’t mind-link her in my human form.
At last, the silence is broken when she asks if I have water. Yeah, as a matter of fact, I do. I put a bottle in this morning in case she got thirsty. She gives me a suspicious look and asks if I have been reading her thoughts all along.
