Chapter 30: Look like death warmed up

1978 Words

Dahnya’s POV: The screeching sound of my alarm wakes me up. I open my eyes slowly to turn off the offending noise. I finally fell into a deep sleep in the early hours of the morning. Urgh… Today is going to be tough. I have a shift at the diner, and it’s Monday, which is a notoriously difficult day for most regular folks. I recall dreaming of Levi and his sandy brown wolf. His wolf was sad; I was sad too. If I could choose, I would go over there and sleep the day away, curled up next to his furry four-footer. I need to get up, but I grab my phone instead. His text message is the first and only thing I pay attention to. “Good morning, sweetheart. I missed you last night. Enjoy your day. I will see you at the diner.” Oh no, I suddenly feel like crying. I don’t trust myself at the moment.
