Chapter 40: Meeting his family

Levi’s POV: My stomach is in knots. The look of excitement on her face as she steps out of the truck and admires her surroundings is a good sign, but it is also confrontational. She is glad to be here, that much is clear, but will she still be happy after finding out about her mother? I grab her bag and sling it over my shoulder. I hold her left hand in mine, and she has her pillow tucked under her right arm. We trek up the small hill until my childhood home comes into view. It is not huge, but the log cabin I’ve called home my entire life is well maintained and captivating. It blends into the surroundings and has everything she could need. Her face lights up. “Levi, this is incredible.” Her reaction does not disappoint. I can imagine growing old with her in our own little cabin. Enough
