“Willow says she’s coming home this weekend,” Mara-Holden Kang says as she fixes up toast for their family of three (actually family of four, but presently three). Bren does a perfectly choreographed dance in his head. When Willow returns to college, he feels hollow inside. And on those weekends she pops up to say hello, the hollowness closes up a bit. “That’s good. God, I have so missed my princess.” Jacob Kang’s eyes hold admiration immediately.
