Fling with an Alpha

Chapter 6

My phone rang and I silenced it almost immediately, the sharp ringtone echoed hard into the silent street. it was Celina calling, I didn't pick because I was not in the mood to speak to anyone.

A car flashes its light behind, my heart jumps a little because I was so lost in my world and I thought it was already going to hit me because I was walking in the middle of the road.

The car was far off and it turned off the light and stopped. I felt I was being followed at the point, I hastened my steps.

I wished I could run but I was way too tired, my legs were barely strong enough to even walk.

My stomach rumbled and I yawned. I was feeling sleepy and hungry. I feel I would eat a whole mutton. I was craving meat which is very unusual. I've not had meat for about ten years, the moment I could control myself during full moons I stopped eating meat.

The car was moving slowly but with the lights off.

"Pick up, your parents are worried"

I read Celina's text. I was a few blocks away from the house. I looked behind me the last time and the car was closing in.

I bent to unhook my heels, suddenly I took off, I was running with the remaining strength I had left to the house with my heels in my hands.

Even though I am not a strong werewolf, I am one of the fastest in the community. I was already faster than most of my mates at 14.

I was competing with the boys on the track. I dropped my shoes and fumbled the key in the knob for a minute, and it still wasn't opening. All I needed was to relax but I was in so much of a hurry to get in the house that I didn't pay attention someone was already in the house. The door was locked from inside.

The sitting room light went off while I was still trying to get the door, then I knew someone was in the house. I became more scared. The car was still parked a few meters away and I could still see the driver, I just couldn't tell who it was.

I ran to the backdoor. Maybe it wasn't locked, I would rather face who was in the house than whoever was in that car.

Fortunately, it wasn't locked. I tiptoed around the house until I could pick a sound or scent.

An aroma was coming from the kitchen, I was confused. I entered the kitchen, with my claws out.

Suddenly I heard a scream from behind the door and someone was running towards me with a steak Knife.

"Mom!!" I screamed in anger.

"You scared me," she said solemnly. I could see the fear in her eyes.

I got a bit relaxed.

"I thought you were still at the party," I whispered.

"And where is dad?"

"I left him there, I needed to use my drugs" she said as she continued her cooking.

My mom has been on drugs since she was converted, she is more human than a wolf. I didn't want to tell her about the car outside, she'd be so terrified.

“I'll be back”

I excused myself. I made sure she won't notice me acting strange.

I went to the window closest to where I could see the road. The car was gone.

I could have called or texted Celina but I didn't want to. I find it hard to ask anyone for help, even my parents.

I went back to the kitchen, I was starving so bad.

“Your Dad called, he won't be joining us tonight”

I almost jumped.

“Why?”

“He's going to be taking summary of the lunar alignment with the other elders”

I reached out for a plate and served myself a large portion of the food she cooked.

“Are you okay?” She asked, concerned.

“Yes” I replied in the middle of chewing.

She stood by the cabinet, her gaze still on me but I didn't care until I remembered she could be spotting a difference in my body.

“Do you like Aaron?” I asked, trying to distract her.

“He's a good guy, your Dad likes him”

“Mom!”

She smiled.

“I want the best for you, it doesn't really matter if I like him or not”

“I don't think he's the best for me mom”

“Why? Have you been seeing someone?” She asked with visible interest in her eyes.

“Here we go again” I thought, I was trying to divert her attention but I have successfully fixed her attention on what I didn't want her to know.

“No mom, I like Aaron but women flock around him alot”

“Yes, that's the disadvantages of being an Alpha’s mate, your dad had a lot of women around him back then too but a Luna rules always”

“I don't know how I feel about him yet” I replied while serving myself another plate. I could see the shock on my mom’s face.

“Well, we should invite him for dinner tomorrow, I'll tell your Dad”

I stopped scooping.

“Is that necessary?”

“Yes, he's family now?”

We heard a knock on the door and stopped talking immediately.

It's past 2am, Dad’s not coming. He could have called if he had changed his mind.

My mom’s face was filled with fear once again.

“Are you expecting someone?”

“Of course Not, it's too late for any visit”

“I hope it's not what I'm thinking” she started shivering.

“Stop mom” I frowned. Whatever she is thinking isn't good.

“Stay here, I'll check”

I didn't know if I should grab a knife or rely on my claws. I'm not a good fighter, I probably won't even survive either ways.

“Come with me” she whispered and led me to their bedroom.

I went to the window to peep while she moved our family picture from the wall. I was shocked to see a hidden safe in wall, I wasn't relatively close with my parents until 16.

She input the code and the safe opened. It was the size of a Fridge. Stacked on the walls are all sort of rifles guns and knives.

She strapped a gun belt on her waist and holstered a pistol and a combat knife. She grabbed a magazine and a Torchlight.

“Let's go” she said while passing me a pistol.

I was in complete shock because I didn't know this side of her.

“Who are you miss?” I asked jokingly.

She smiled, took the gun from my hand and c****d it.

“This is the safety, and this is the trigger”

The gun was lighter than I had expected.

“I am the last Wolf hunter” she said and exit the room.

“That was bad ass” I said to myself before hurrying behind her”
