He'd gotten four of them done and was swapping out for two more when his cell phone rang. He paused and pulled it out of his pocket. Ralph. This ought to be entertaining. "How are things there? How's Jake?" he asked, infusing as much fake concern into his tone as he possibly could. "They had to put tubes down his throat to help him breathe," Ralph shared. "And they're running a bunch of tests. They don't know what's wrong with him." And unless they know what to look for, they never will, he thought with smug satisfaction. Ralph's next words drew his attention back to the conversation. "They're saying we might want to call his family. Do you know any of that contact information?" "I don’t," he replied, "but I can look around in his office and I still need to call the big boss anyway.
