Clint Asters arrived onsite at seven a.m. and immediately gathered everyone together for an impromptu meeting.
"I am sure that most of you have heard about Jake by now," he began. "For those who haven't, here's the situation. He became ill sometime over the last couple of days and was found unconscious yesterday morning. He was immediately transported by ambulance to the local hospital, but unfortunately all attempts to revive him were unsuccessful, and he passed away yesterday afternoon."
"Now, I've been sent down here to oversee the rest of this year's circuit. But before we begin tearing down and loading up to get on the road, I'd like us all to observe a minute of silence for our friend and co-worker. He was a good man, and he will be missed."
