CHAPTER NINE
Dr. Mesa sighed.
"She's stabilized for now, but still in very serious condition, Mr. Thomas. At this point, we wait, and watch, and hope for the best. We've done all we can for now. The neurologist, Dr. Adamal, thought it best to keep her in a medically induced coma for the next twenty-four to forty-eight hours, to give her body a chance to combat the swelling on her brain. As the swelling recedes, we'll lighten the medication to gradually bring her back to awareness, then run some more tests and see if and where there's any damage."
"Doctor Adamal's the best. She's in good hands, Nathan," Lizzie stated.
"I agree completely," Mesa replied.
When Nathan glanced at her with a curious expression, Lizzie explained.
"He was Dad's neurologist when my father had his stroke."
