Chapter 27 Xavier stirred. I looked at him. No, I inspected him. I pictured him with longer hair, and glasses. I’d have to ask Elena, who had a better memory, but I knew from the f*******: photos that Xavier competed in moot court. We beat his team of four to make it to the finals in Elena’s and my final year of law school. There was probably a photo of the last four teams somewhere. Xavier shifted in the bed, then said my name. The phone rang and I almost dropped it. On the second ring, I answered. ”Hello.” “Agent Gooding?” “Hold on.” I shook Xavier. “Hey, phone call.
