Hallow and I stood in the middle of the hall way, everyone else were at the underground station. I drank and laughed, talking about the past, commodities of same level, no dismay, no high ranks or low ranks, just we on same page. My guards were outside though, I asked them to give me and my brother space, this was intimate, nothing could harm me.
I heard footsteps around the corner, I ignored it. Maybe it was my guard, I thought to my self.
I heard it again, this time more obvious. My guards won't make such cranky sounds I thought. I walked to see who was there, before reaching I saw the shadow of the being vanish in my eye, I didn't see who it was but I knew something was off. I told Hallow what I saw, he too rushed to check if he could see anyone, nobody!....
I called my guards to know if they saw anyone around the premises, that answered no. I asked them to tighten up in case it was an enemy.
I and Hallow resumed our talks, drinking and laughing out loud. Now the noise I heard was loud, Hallow heard it too. We both now were alert for surprises, we walked to where my we heard the sound, my guards were lying there, lifeless. Now I knew there was an enemy here for me, but could it be?? Who ignored danger and now tries to kill me?.
The sounds were no longer hidden, approaching steps were heard coming from the tunnels. We stood ready, about 4 well grown lycans charged out of the tunnels at once.... Lycans?? How did they get in my kingdom?? I thought this within an explicit second. I reach d for my knife and cut one down, Hallow too was fighting another. We killed the whole four, but more crawled out of the tunnels.
We didn't hesitate to kill all of them. No one heard of this intruders, this was planned, we had a betrayal amongst us.
I called in soldiers to take away the bodies and clean the place up. Hallow was injured on his arm, he too was taken in for treatments.
I needed to have an emergency meeting immediately.
The elders and I now seated in a round table form. I then spoke, "Does anyone on this table know of how this came to happen??". The room remained quiet.
I now sensed suspicion amongst these men. Oblegon was in charge of transit, he knew all the tunnels because he was the one who worked on them, I feared for this to ever happen, but now it did.
"Oblegon", I called. "So you chooses to betray your people and work with Lycans?? What have you done??", the table looked at me in surprise, they wondered how I knew this. Oblegon wasn't looking surprised, he smiled and stood up, wanting to walk out.
I ordered the guards immediately, "Hold this man", they caught him instantly, I stood up too, hands held tightly behind me, I then moved towards him. That wasn't Oblegon. This was a clone. Just then men ran into the room. "Sir Oblegon was seen taking his things out to the gate way Sir!!", they said in a rush. I ordered them to hold this man that acts as Oblegon."Meet me at the gate Neeta", I instructed. I vanished from their presence instantly.
My tactical move was soo much a treat to speed. I reappeared where Oblegon was, he scrambled down to the ground. "No", he muttered, "how did you do this?".
I stood there without saying a word, just then Neeta arrived with some soldiers and a chain for Oblegon.
Having a betrayer in our midst was a treat us, it showed someone was trying to take my kingdom down. Oblegon was now our asset.
