Chapter 8: Waking up

David POV:

After one day that my mate is in the hospital my beta liam comes by. "Hi David, how are you?". I shrug at him " Hello Liam, I guess it goes okay. My mate is in bad shape and they give her drugs to let her stay in a coma". "So the rumors are true that you found your mate. Congrats on finding your mate david.I just hope you enjoy life more and work less hard". " Thanks Liam," I said. "I hope she gets well soon. I hope I can meet her in better conditions" laim said. "Thanks Liam, can you watch over to see the pack while I stay at her side?" I ask him. "Yes, of course I can do that. I will bring your paperwork every few days so you can work from here. The pack will understand that you will be by your mates side in this difficult time. Don't worry I will handle this'' he winked at me. I nod at him and then we stay silent looking at her. He leaves and gets some paperwork I have to look into for a pack business. When liam comes to visit I go to the packhouse to get some fresh clothes for three days. I put them in my duffel bag and went back to the hospital. I shower at the hospital and eat there as well. I won't leave her side. When I am back my sister goes to get her things. She wants one of us always there in case she wakes up. Meanwhile when one of us is gone liam stays at her side to keep an eye on her. My beta and my sister I trust to stay with my mate. I know they do nothing to her and the rest of the male's in the pack I don't trust. She is a beauty and they will mark her. But she is all mine and I am the one who will mark her. After one week they stopped giving her the drugs that kept her in a coma. They hope she will wake up in about two days. Unfortunately she woke up after a week.When she woke up I didn't realise she had woken. Then maybe I had removed my hand from hers or not. I needed to touch her. It was a drift. She looked at me with her beautiful blue eyes. When she looked at my hand I said "hello" to her. She looked longer at me as if she checked me out from top to bottom. I didn't mind, after all she is my mate she can look as she pleases. I let her look a little bit longer before I asked her name. "My name is Elisabeth and what's your name" I hear her say. Wow elisabeth what a beautiful name I love it. My mate's voice sounds like a melody to my ears. Still mesmerised by her voice I say "I am david and that is my sister hanna" I introduce. I hope my sister doesn't mind if I speak for her. I love talking to her after she finally wakes up. I learned her name so far and I want to know it all. My wolf is very happy he heard her voice for the first time. David, our mate, is stunning. We can't lose her, we need to protect her. We need her, he admitted. He said it all in my head with determination. I focus back on my mate and go further "You are in the blood moon pack and in the hospital. You were badly injured when we found you. You are probably beaten". I looked at her to see her reaction. But what I saw shocked me. She was panicking and I think she is afraid of me. I tried to calm her down and reassure her she doesn't need to be scared."You don't have to be scared, you are safe now. We don't mean any harm to you. Nobody is touching you without your permission" I said in a soft voice trying to calm her down. I see that she is shaking her head and I am instantly hurt. Why doesn't she feel safe with me? I am her mate she has to feel safe with me, right? At that moment she begins to cry and my heart is breaking again at that sight. I hear my sister say "David please get out of the room. Give her space I will stay here until she can leave the hospital". I decided to do what I am told. She has better judgement at this point. When I leave I hear hanna in my head. Thank you brother that you trust me. I think she has a trauma of some sort what involves you. I hope I will figure it out. I know it's hard to leave your mate but she is in good hands she ended. Thanks hanna I go for a run to calm black down. Keep me posted if you know learn something about that. Then I go out of the door and change immediately in my wolf form. When I head back to the packhouse, Hanna gives me an update. She tells me that alpha jason had told her that she was not allowed to see me. That he was the one that beaten her. After that I put the stuff in her room next to mine. I let it clean and put new sheets on the bed. When the time comes her room is ready for her. The doctor recommended loose fit clothes. So I selected items from my wardrobe. It calms me that she is wearing my clothes. I bring the items to her closet and hang them up. The day that my princess can leave the hospital is today. I know she has a check up before she leaves. I contacted my sister by phone "Hi sis how is everything?" I ask her." Hi David, everything is better. We built a band. I think we are friends now. It went smoothly this week. We watched a lot of movies and talked a lot" she said. " I am glad to hear that. Do you think she's up to dinner with me and you of course?" I ask hanna. "I will ask her when we are at the packhouse. Please stay away. We want her to feel safe and that she can trust us. So only with her consent can you see her deal?" "Hanna, she is my mate. I don't know how much longer I can stay away. Blake is very difficult, it becomes harder and harder to control him". "I know just a little bit longer david. Who knows, maybe you can see her tonight. I have to go bye. I see you in a little bit" she hangs up the phone. After two hours she came by my office. Hanna informs me that elisabeth will join dinner. I was so happy that she agreed to see me. My wolf did a happy dance in my head. Hanna warned me that I had to be careful with her. I had to bond with her and take it slow. I can do that. No, we can do that my wolf said we have to. Dinner goes well. I told her why nobody's around. When she is ready I will let pack members back in the packhouse. I will introduce her first to my beta liam. She smells amazing and she is so beautiful. Her voice is like angels you can't f**k this up. If you do I will leave or take over and make it right and forcefully mark her. She is ours no matter what. I just nod at him and promise to do so.
