Chapter 10: Rogues

The next morning I go downstairs for breakfast. I chatted a bit with Hanna and David. I came to know that they are busy this whole morning. So I have a chance to escape. When I am done with breakfast I go to my room. When I am in my room I form a plan to run away. I know I can't exactly walk out the front door. There are guards by the front and back door. David instructed them to not let anyone in or out unless they have his permission. He says it's for my safety so that the mateless male's can't reach me. He is afraid that they will do something stupid. If I am the damsel in distress. I can protect myself. I don't need him but it's nice of him Sterre said. I rolled my eyes at her. I will leave everything behind because it's not mine. I am grateful for what they did for me. They gave me some clothes and some necessities. Don't take me wrong I am grateful that they did. But I think I have no right to take them with me on my journey. Because of Hanna, David and Liam I have a little bit of trust back in humans and wolves. I made friends and if you told me a few months back I didn't believe you. Now I have friends but I have to do this for myself. To find out who I am. Maybe I want to avoid the conversation about my past. So I am running away. I know the easy way out. I am just not ready yet. I don't know if I trust them, a bit but not fully yet. The easy way for me to escape is to climb out of a window. My room is on the fifth floor so I have to seek a room that is closer to the ground. I will break my legs if I try to jump out of the window on the fifth floor. So I wandered around the house. First to see if anyone notices me. Second, to see if I can get in a room closer to the ground. After half an hour I didn't notice anybody around. So I went to a room on the first floor. I open the window and look around. To make sure that nobody is below me or can see me. There is nothing and no one so I climb out the window. I dash for the trees and look behind me to see if somebody saw me. Luckily for me the coast is clear and I wasn't seen. I go for a run and don't slow down for half an hour. After that I go for a jog and I enjoy the forest. It's been a long time since I ran through one. My wolf Sterre enjoying it also. I feel her surface to be closer to nature. I know that the silver moon pack is located in the north. Thanks to being a wolf I know where the North is. We naturally know where North, West, south and east are located. So I head out to the north. When I see a river I stop briefly to drink some water. After two more hours, I stop to take a rest. I wish I didn't stopped because there were three rogues. I back down against a tree. In my mind I can climb up the tree to avoid the rouges. Unfortunately they saw me, luck wasn't at my side now. " If I was you I wouldn't climb that tree sweetheart," one of the rogues said. I just look at them. I check them from head to toe to see if I can handle them. Remember your training you had at the silver moon pack. You know how to handle yourself in this situation. You fighted multiple people before. It's like riding a bike you won't forget Sterre said encouragingly. I will do my best but can you help me if I need help? I ask her. Yes, I will always help you no matter what she promises. " Just let us play with you and we let you live. We haven't played in a long time. We only want some fun". I think it was the leader who said that. " Just let me go and you will live another day to be free. I offer this once, be wise and leave me alone" I said irritatedly to the rogues. They just looked at me in disbelief. " Hahaha what will you do? You are just a girl who looks fragile and scared. You are in no position to threaten us. We are much stronger and powerful than you. Now we will play with you and then end your life. You had your chance and you didn't take it". The leader rogue said. I rolled my eyes at him. " She is feisty. I like it, so please can I have fun first. I like to break her spirit" the youngest said. He looked at me with lust in his eyes. He looked like he hadn't had a decent meal in a while. He could use a shower and a haircut. David was more handsome and more my type I realized suddenly. "Okay I warned you now you have to face the consequences" I say to them. The rogues stepped closer to me. "I warn you to leave me alone or you will die" I said to them. Despite my warning they came closer to me. They had me shrouded. They didn't leave me a choice. I punched the fish guy on the nose. The second guy I kicked him in the balls. He immediately went to the ground and I smiled. The third was more careful in approaching me. Before he could do anything Sterre took over for a brief second and punched him hard in the guts. The first one launched at me but I dodge him. When he came back I punched him.

When they are all on the floor I run in the direction of the packhouse. In the hope that I see a guard to help me. Then all the sudden Sterre said duck and I did what I was told. I see a black wolf leap over me. To rogues who were following me. I heard bones breaking and I figured that the rogues transformed into their wolf form. When I turned, the first rogue was already dead. He was by the second and he stood no chance against the black wolf. In mere minutes they were all dead. He didn't even break a sweat. They had no chance the black wolf was a large wolf. He had fantastic fighting skills. He is definitely an alpha and a strong one. He was even big for an alpha. He had dark blue eyes. But I recognised him somehow. I don't know if it was Sterre but I knew that this was David wolf. He walked to me and laid on his belly. It was to show that he is submissive toward me. That he means no harm. "Thank you for saving me from those rogues". I smiled at him and patted his head. "I know he is mad. I hope he can forgive me and come to talk to me. Then I can explain a little bit why I did it. I promise that I won't run away again" I sighed. I give his wolf a little kiss on his head. He looked at me and nodded to me. Then he went behind a tree. He shifted back and I saw David in only shorts. He walked towards me and he threw me over his shoulder. "DAVID I CAN WALK BY MYSELF"! I yelled at him. My fists hit his back but it did nothing. He ordered some of his guards to clean up the mess and dispose of the body's. He just walked to the packhouse. He went to the alpha floor and put me down in his room. He walked out and locked me in his room. All the way back here he didn't speak to me. He didn't even yell at me. After five minutes I sat on his bed and waited for him. Three hours later I decided I would take a shower and chance in some of his clothes. I walked to his walk-in closet and saw his clothes. It looked similar to some of mine. So I wore his clothes that is interesting. I took a hoodie, boxer and training pants to the bathroom. I showered long and scrubbed all the dirt off from myself. After my shower I put the clothes on and go to the bedroom. I was very tired so I laid down on the bed. It was soft and comfortable and within five minutes I was fast asleep. I was woken up by Hanna who had some food for me. "Hi Elisabeth" was all she said. Before she could leave I spoke to her. "Hi Hanna, I am very sorry. But I had to leave. You guys are my friend and I don't want to burden you with my past". She looked at me for a long time and then she sighted. "Lizzy, do you know what friendship means? It means that you can share the good but also the bad. If something bad happened to you, you can tell us we won't judge". Hanna said irritated. I didn't want to cry but I did. "What happened to me was traumatizing first in my formar pack and then in the dark moon pack. I am a broken person. I don't know what friends are because I never had one in a long time. So I did what I thought was right to do. Believe me I wanted you guys to stop me but I also wanted to leave. It was what I needed to do,'' I said. She walked to me and hugged me with tears in her eyes. We both cried until we had no more tears. When we both calmed down she said "he is disappointed and doesn't know how to cope". "I know I saw it in his eyes. I think his wolf forgives me though. I will stay put until he comes by, I promise. But he can't keep me locked up here forever" I said. " I will do my best to convince him otherwise. He have to talk to you. I forgive you Lis. I'm sorry you had to go through all of that. If you want to talk about it I am here for you. You can tell me everything. When you are ready to share it". With that she leaves the room.
