Capter 2: The announcement

A few years later

I hear footsteps in the halway. Then the squeaking of my door to my room. "Wake up you b****h and make breakfast we are hungry" said danielle. She punched me in the gut and I couldn't breathe for a second. I balled my fistst not to hit her back. She is the pack slet and thinks she is the pack luna. Alpha jason is only interested in her because she is easy. I stand up and get ready for the day. My clothes, if you can call them so, are given to me and they are too big for me. In this pack I never owned new clothes that fit me. I look around my room and make my bed. In my room is a bed and a desk where I read. It has a little window which I often look out of. It's not much but it's all mine. I have the smallest bedroom in the packhouse I don't mind that at all. I walk down stars and try to avoid everyone. They like to abuse me and call me names. They use violence against me whenever they like or see fit. I was beaten more than I could count. When I was done with making and serving the breakfast the alpha walked in the kitchen. "Alpha what can I do for you? Can I have by chance some breakfast?" I lowered my head in submission before he could say anything. " No you can't have breakfast because you were late and Danielle did have to wake you up. Will this be a lesson to set your goddamn alarm" alpha jason said angry. I didn't reply he didn't want to hear it anyway. I don't want to give him a reason to discipline me." You now go and do your chores and you better do them well or else you don't get dinner as well". "Jes alpha" I replied. When I am done in the kitchen I pick up the laundry and place them in the washing machines. I fold all the laundry and place them in the rooms where they belong to. It took me all morning to do so. Then I make lunch and clean the house. I occasionally look out the window and watch the training. I watch the moves they use to take each other down. How they fight each other in human form and in wolf form. I try to remember the moves so I can practice them in my secret gym. When I am done I go to the office and ask the alpha for money for the groceries. "Here take the money and you can take the yellow suv to get them" he said. After I got the groceries I had time to read a book and to practice. My wolf taught me some tricks I can use. I can hide my scent and my aura. I practice everyday to concentrate and to be patient. Sterre is very strict I have to practice every day or else she will get mad. Sometimes I go to the secret gym to work out. You may wonder why I don't defend myself from them. I do it because I have to survive. When I am 18 I will run away from this pack and go to silver moon to see if anybody survived the attack. If i have found them or not i will go to school and finish my high school so that i can work and live independently. If I defend myself maybe they see that as a threat and then they kill me. When it is five o'clock I start to make dinner. I am finished making dinner at half past seven. I serve dinner in the dinner room where there are already some wolf's waiting. Dinner time is the most dangerous time because most members eat in the packhouse. More people means more chances I will be beaten. Mostly for fun and entertainment. When they are finished with dinner the alpha comes in the kitchen with a plate with a little bit of food. "Here is your dinner, eat here and when you are done clean the dining room and the floor" alpha jason said. He didn't wait for my response and walked out of the kitchen. After I cleaned and did the floor I walked out to my room. Two pack members called me " he lantern?! what are you looking at you b****h. For that we are going to punish you". They came close and when they were in reach they punched and kicked me. I land on the floor they are still going on i protect my head with my arms. After 10 minutes they were done and walked away. I crawl to the kitchen to the aid box and fix myself up. I hear my wolf apologize that she wishes she can do something for me. I try to heal you faster so you are not in too much pain. You know we don't have much energy to do so I said sadly. I know but I am trying to cheer you up i know I am not good at that. I smiled at her you try and that is all that matters. I endured much worse pain don't worry Sterre, we will survive this it's only a couple of bruises and a broken rib. Your company means a lot to me because of you I don't get crazy and I don't get in too much trouble. She smiled at me and said I love you to Lis. After I fixed myself I go to my room and made sure I set my alarm and went to sleep. 

The next day I woke up early because today is my shower day. The alpha had set rules specifically for me. When I can take a shower or go outside to the forest only on specific days. I can only shower in the morning so that I don't burden anybody with my presence. I can only go outside for an hour when I am not back in time I will get punished. I can only eat if the alpha gives me food otherwise I am not allowed to eat. If I steal food I get a whipping for that as a punishment. The rules are stupid and it is only to make sure I don't escape. To weak to escape so they can use me as a slave. I make breakfast when I am done i serve it in the dining room. The alpha and the pack members are waiting for me. When I was still in the room the alpha announced that tonight there is a meeting that is mandatory for everybody. He looked a second to me and then to the rest of the pack. My wolf rolled her eyes. It's not that we won't come or else we get a punishment. I laugh inward at her comment. It begins at eight o'clock precisely and it will be held in the garden. I did my daily chores cooked lunch and dinner. Did the laundry, cleaned the bathrooms and toilets, the common rooms and then the rest of the house. At the end of the day I was exhausted but I had a meeting to attend to. I walk in the garden 5 minutes after eight. The alpha was still in a conversation so it was not terrible that I was 5 minutes late. Alpha jason climbed on the stage so everybody could see him." Hello everybody it's good to see you all. As you know I have an announcement to make. Over a week the blood moon pack will visit us with the alpha david. As you know they are the largest pack and the strongest. It's important that we make a good impression." He was quiet for a moment, the rest of the pack whispered amongst themselves. They fear the blood moon pack. Their alpha reigned with an iron fist. If you make a mistake you will pay for it. He coughed to get attention." I know you are afraid but stay strong and nothing will happen. I need you to take care of the pack. Maintain your front yard and keep the streets clean. The dinner party will be fancy to dress to impress. One more thing nobody and i mean nobody touches the lantern. If you do, the consequences are for you. It's till after the party then you can do to her whatever you want i don't care." What did he say? Nobody can touch me yes. I did a dance in my head. Maybe I can heal and can save some energy for the future so that I can escape. I knew that everybody was watching me. " You are dismissed, you all can go now" alpha jason said. I walk immediately to the packhouse before someone can blame me. 

Jason pov:

In the morning I got a phone call. It was simple and I couldn't do anything about it. The alpha from blood moon called me and told me they will come visit us in a week on Saturday. When I asked why he didn't answer he just said I see you on Saturday goodbye and he hung up the phone call. S**t... he will visit in a week. I need to inform my dad and the beta so they can help me plan the visit. I called them in my office and told them what happened. My dad said '' you can't refuse this, he is the strongest alpha and alpha david has a lot of influence in the council. We need to make sure that the lantern is invisible to him and she must heal and have no sign of abuse, in case he sees her. You know they can take the title from you if you mistreated a pack member. Your job is to make sure that everyone is safe but she is not worthy of our protection. The council can't see that they value every wolf but she is only a burden she can't defend herself or someone else. In your announcement you must tell the pack they can't touch her for a week or you can lose your title. The pack will understand that". " I know Father but how will the pack react to that? You know she is their favorite toy, ``I said. "Do you want to lose the pack?! If you do you are a son of a b****h and not worth to be alpha" my father said angry. "No dad, I will take care of it and explain everything to the pack via the pack link. She is not in the pack so she will not hear that. I am not scared of him and I will take care of the lantern. That she never met alpha david. I think I will give her a job so she is too busy. To cook the dinner so she will be out of sight and we will save us some money on catering. " I said. "That's my son, that's a good solution. I am proud of you" my father said. During breakfast I was told there is a meeting at eight o'clock. I look at the girl for a brief second to make sure she heard me and will attend, then I look at the rest of my pack.  They are loyal to me because they trust me and look up to me. I do anything for my pack even if it kills me. The rest of the day was long and boring. I did some alpha stuff and listened to the pack members who had some complaints and needed solutions. When it's time to announce that the blood moon will come i go outside. "He alpha have you a minute? I have a problem with some supplies for my store" a*****e manager said. "Jes wilam what's the problem and can it be solved now?" " No alpha i think we have to discuss this because more stores owners have the same problem" wilam said. "Go to the beta and he will arrange a meeting with all the store owners". " Thank you alpha" he said and with that he walked away. I go to the podium and announce the news. When I am done and dismissed everybody I open the pack link. Hello I know you don't like what I said but if someone finds out that a member is being mistreated then I can lose my alpha title. The rules of werewolves state that every member is valuable and that no one should be mistreated regardless of whether they are wolves or not. So I need you to do what I am told. I make sure she never meets alpha david. He has a lot of influence in the council and I don't want to lose this pack. Soon I get responses that they will not let that happen. I am glad they will defend me as their alpha and do this for me. It confirms for me that they want me as their alpha. I have never been so proud and feel loved by my pack.
