Chapter 14Cassandra's lawyer told her the inheritance would definitely be hers, but he warned her that it might be six months or so before she got her hands on it.
The following day, Cassandra flew over to Malaga, and she rented a small villa just outside of Marbella, where she lived quietly until her lawyer called her up to say that she would have to come over to England to sign a few papers and finalize things… The inheritance was now hers.
The following week she put the family mansion in Esher up for sale, and who should come calling that afternoon but Ruth. 'Nice to see you again, Cass,' she said. 'How'd you feel now you got your very own castle?'
'Sure beats hanging out in a prison cell.'
'Well, aren't you gonna invite yer ol' cellmate in?'
